Homburg Fedora Size 7-1/2 1920's Vintage Mint Condition

Full disclosure. I had this hat listed on auction and thought I had it sold...twice.
There was a lot of interest but both deals fell apart.

I believe my research to be very accurate especially with the age of the hat. I am not expert enough to suggest that this is one level of quality versus another but if any loungers have a view on that please share it. I have a lot to sell and it will go better if I'm accurate.

I am offering this up for 190.00 USD delivered into the USA. If it sells in canada or abroad we can haggle over the difference.

Vintage Fedora Hat- Homburg Size 7-1/2- Canadian Made MINT Condition. Mint means Never Worn. You will be the first make this hat your own.

This is a hat from a Canadian Company named Boulter. Below is a link to a French report indicating Boulters history as a furrier began in 1877. They ceased operations in 1930. The hat retailer HURLEYS was located in Saint John New Bruswick, Canada. The first telephone listing I could locate in the museum archives was 1929 for the retailer.
The crown measures 6 inches and the brim is 2-3/4.
The sweat band is mint. The little bow (on the sweat band) is loose but still connected. As you will see from the pic the only size marking is that which was behind the brim and on the little handwritten tag. The hat is new. It has never been shaped and it is in perfect condition.
This is one of a small number number of 71/2 that I have. The retail tag which was in the ribbon when I acquired the hat says color is pearl. I have a top down pic with hat sitting on a gray floor to let you see in that view versus against the white background.

Thanks Daniel. I saw the thread. That info helped me explain a couple of the other names I had as well. The second chance offer person suggested that a colleague of his thought it may not be as hold as I indicated. I asked him to please send any info as its in my interest to be accurate.its been 4 days and no response. In meantime I have a 71/2 borsalino ready to go shortly. Not perfect as it has some damage. Sneak peak for you

I think it’s probably impossible to date any of these hats with 100% certainty, but all the signs I know to look for point to the 30s at the latest.

Here’s one point: to my research, almost all hats had the back seem sewed together by the 30s. Maybe other guys can name exceptions, but that would be a big first for me. Add that to the quality of the embossed sweatstamps, the information and history on the factories you found, the info we have on early Borsalinos and Stetsons, and I think the decade estimations we made are as accurate as possible.

As you pointed out, more information helps us all.

I'm interested in the Borsa for a friend.

It sold yesterday at noon on eBay. A great deal I think for the buyer. Just over 200 canadian. They didn’t pay yet so I can let you know if it falls apart.
