Another day at the office, another vintage (1940s) tie. This one does have a label, two in fact: one says "Fidelity Cravats", the other, "Cater's Men's Store, Rhode Island."

Another winner! Keep 'em coming, man.

Great shirt, too. I need to look into some of those makers. I have a neck that must be enormously out of proportion to the rest of me because when I buy shirts that will comfortably button around it they're always 5 sizes too big on the rest of me.

Thanks bud. I hear you where the neck sizes are concerned. I bought a Darcy Clothing shirt once, it was great except you could've fit two of me into the body. I took it to my tailor to alter and he looked at me all confused. "Why'd you buy a size so big?" he wanted to know. All I could say was that the sizes are based on the neck measurements.

I'll see what springs out of the closet at me on Monday. Looking forward to the weekend, tieless though it may be!

I wore my fly tie out today. Have to be careful tying this one.

Not sure if they are dry flies or wet flies. Dry today I guess as it didn't rain on me.

The underlying tie is a Bachrach Gabanaire 100% Virgin Wool model.

Outstanding ensemble as always Michael! The tie alone should "catch" you some fitting compliments!
Thanks Benny. I got a couple of long looks, but no nibbles. I've really been enjoying the gems you've been showing lately.

Thanks Dale. Fortunately it measured in the slot, so I could keep it.

Thanks,
Michael

Outstanding Creveling!! The strong graphic and color contrast are a stellar example of the bold look of the 40s/early50s era. No mistaking that one for anything but vintage. Great tie and well worn.

Thank you Dale! It's one of the first ties I bought when I first got into the 30s-40s aesthetic of dressing and those early purchases are my favourites, they come with such good memories of the excitement of when it was all new.

You said a mouthful there my friend..... I couldn't agree more about the excitement and good memories.
