Art - I’m not sure I’m the right Lefty. Lefty W. = Washburn. I was seriously considering ordering a Glacier from you, but I didn’t make the cut by the time you sold out. I did get a Blue Smoke from you earlier in the year.

My version of the VS Executive. I thought the Glacier felt (one of only a dozen made) deserved a pastel companion 1 inch Lavender ribbon and gills bow. The 2 1/2 brim is right in my sweet spot, too. The color is what I would call powder blue or baby blue although in low light it carries a gray cast. Thank you, Art, another exceptional hat!

Nice choice in ribbon color. It definitely brings out the blue hue in the felt.

That was actually part of my thinking: let the lavender move the color more toward blue and less toward gray. Perhaps it works a little bit like that anyway.

Thanks Art, its awesome. Love the suede finish on the Glacier and thin ribbon. Snaps up or down perfectly. 2 5/8 brim and generous crown height suits me just fine. Unboxing a classic. Outside pics show color better, inside pics are more grayish.

Looks fabulous, Ken. I love felt that changes color with the lighting. The thin ribbon was a great choice.
Interesting how your Glacier has a completely different vibe from Randy’s. I’m picking mine up today and I have high expectations.

Thanks Brent, I love how it turned out. Yes, very sharp differences with simple changes in ribbon color, size, width. I'm partial to a Stratoliner / Traveler look. I'm also curious how the Glacier color compares with your Blue Smoke, keep us posted.

My glacier is finally in hand. It arrive last Saturday, but this was as soon as I could pick it up. I told Art that I wasn’t afraid of bold colors and asked for a 2 3/4” bound brim brim and 6” open crown. I left everything else up to him. I had no idea what ribbon and binding or bow treatment Art selected until I opened the box.
First, it’s definitely lighter and less blue than blue smoke, at least the most recent version of blue smoke.

The finish is a bit like short suede/antelope and it has a great hand. The felt is dense and the brim is relatively firm and the crown is relatively soft. The 2” wide ribbon gives it a more vintage look to my eye. To be honest, I was expecting something bolder, but in the hour or so I’ve had it I’ve come to appreciate that it’s striking for its subtleties and not by being ostentatious. This is the most generous sized of all my VS hats and fits the best of them all.
In shade:
The crease will get refined next week when I have more time.
