Another world away, Eric, and it’s a pretty, hot day. Crazy, ain’t it. Love both your gills today, btw.
Was perspiring in my new Campbell homburg and had to take it off while I cleaned up a few tools.
This one came in today and had to stretch it back to the 1/4 it was made to be. After a cleaning this hat looks good enough to oust my gray Stetson burg from its top ranking status.
Love this one. Never heard of this brand till I saw it on eBay. In every way this hat shines. Must have been a superlative hat company.

At ten bucks, this Hommie was a serious bargain in the fifties.

Nice looking Homburg, Randall. It's a new name on me, nevertheless it looks like a well made, good quality hat. You sport it well btw.

Thanks bowlerman! My daughter made the band.

[emoji145]s off to your daughter DD. That's one cool band that so nicely suits that hat and goes well with the jacket you're wearing. I see your daughter has inherited your gene for an eye for style. Cudos.

Thank you, Steve. I looked up the Campbell hat company and found very little, but what I read was interesting. Love the dark gray color and it’s a sturdy hat, so will cherish this one for a long time.

No. 1 Quality

Love that hat Bama! The shirt and shades are a great match as well. Words escape me on the boots...

The rain makes it a small river not a creek. Stay dry in your grand hat sir.

Thanks Eric. After a long walk and then a quick run to town (apparently the building where our flea-market booth was sold and the owner forgot to tell us -- we had to be out today) the hat got a bit damp. Almost had to turn back as the creek got up over the bridge at some point but I confirmed the depth was crossable.

It didn't help that I bought (and loaded) a vintage table saw from the owner, so I ended up leaving a sweat stain on the ribbon of the Malrov. I should take a picture of it as I'm sure your hats have never seen such a thing. :D:D:D

Wonderful Brent! I guess these are Winchester felts and come prestiffed? Just curious, have you tried the nutria ones yet?

It’s a Winchester dress-weight 100% beaver. It’s not stiff, but it’s not like a fine vintage felt either.

I had one of the Australian 100% nutria felts and it had huge potential. Rick was making a hat with it for me but ran into a dye problem with the hat. He has been trying to over-dye it black for me, but so far the results have not bee completely successful.

The new Sunrise nutria felts are very intriguing. I have a set of their swatches and the felt has some real potential. They are out of stock, but they expect to have new felts by the end of this month. There are several colors that I’m interested in. They are mid-weight (180 grams), so not for fine dress hats, but perfect for a 3 1/8 X 6 western!
