Shameless plug but my Attractions Lot 444 size 9 are for sale. Check Classifieds.

These were my 6th pair of engineer boots (I've had the Lone Wolf black engineers twice, I've had a brown pair, I've had a Lofgren pair, Flat Head and now these..)

The Lofgren I did not keep long. Flat Head were easiest to walk in (probably the lower heel).

These are so nice and beautiful but not something I can walk in easily (I am used to very low heel and flat shoes otherwise) so hopefully they find a home!

admittedly not engineer boots but I’m really digging these rolling dub trio boots. If i didnt just grab a pair of black boots i’d probably give them a try. My guess is that the zipper allows the instep to be extra tight. Most are too generous for me.

I had some Lot 444s that I loved the looks of, but they made my toes numb. Made me realize I need a bump toe in my boots.

The Wesco bosses are all the MP last, the Morrison is a separate last (Western?). Not sure what last the Red Wing Pecos and Klondike Engineer are built on but they are definitely different. The morrison has the highest heel, bosses are all the same.

Lofgren’s at the end of 1 month of pretty heavy wear. To be honest, I like these more and more each day. Wearing them almost exclusively has allowed the soft CXL to mold to my feet quickly. They felt great out of the box but feel even better now. Some points of reference for potential purchasers: The toe box is generous in width but in my opinion the toe does not have a bulbous shape. For me this is great, I cannot get comfortable in a narrow toe. I would say the instep is moderate to snug. I have very low instep and these were not terrible for me though I definitely need to be on the tightest instep strap hole. Sizing! The hardest part of engineer boots since sizing typically speaks in terms of length and width but the foot is 3 dimensional. I went down a half size from brannock measurement and think that is just right. If i were to wear thin socks and it was early in the day I could probably go down a full size, but as mentioned I have a low instep and sort of narrow feet. My guess is that for 90% of the population down a half size is just right.
I like pretty much every aspect of this boot, but perhaps my favorite part is the heel cup (correct term?) in the counter. It really molded to my feet and became very comfortable for walking.
Anyhow, I liked them enough to order a Burgundy pair that I don’t need because of Standard and Stranges sale this weekend.

Thanks. To tie into another thread, they look good but are also comfortable. There is one or two brands whose silhouette I think looks cooler, but reviews tend toward them being uncomfortable. Gorgeous boots that don’t wear well are dust collectors and ebay posts.

Indeed. With this sort of boot, fit is as important as - and sometimes moreso than - quality of build.

I like pretty much all the Wesco Black bear collabs but have found stock Wesco to be a bad fit for me. I really like the black CXL with raptor sole.
