My IH 14 oz. overdye type III arrived from Self Edge on Saturday and the fit is spot on. Not as long as I had feared sInce as Ton pointed out SE measures from the front of the jacket. Quite happy to have a type III from Iron Heart that fits well, especially after sending back the last two jackets I bought from them.

Vanson was just too long.
Stock aero chips back length was 23.5 (no dip) i added an inch and will probably come out 24. Which i think for its purpose is great. Im 5 ft 11 in 170 lbs
stock vanson back was 27 and front was way too long for riding. I went custom minus 2 inch length and plus 1/2 in sleeve. Stock sleeve was 25. Other than that liked the leather and liked the snaps. They are plated dark grey/black and not painted black

LOL...Yeah I think The Alley used to sell used ones years ago. I know Lost Eras on Howard in Rogers Park had an entire basement full of retired cop jackets in various stages of decay. which reminds me that I really should stop in there. It's a pretty cool place.

No just went pretty much stock. Tumbled black cxl and standard nickel hardware. What does the belt look like? Ones they use on the other moto jackets?

I didn’t ask but I’d imagine it’ll be like a J106 belt alright. Yours is the same as mine, I added an inch to the back length as well and went for tumbled black CXL, which seems to suit this style for some reason.

I have a Dark Seal Aero Board Racer on order that should hopefully be coming soon. The fit jacket was sent back and the order placed late October and I was told it should come through early December. I ended up going with .5" from each side in the body and .75" off the sleeves.
I am trying to be patient but the wait is killing me.

Might want to wait for the fit pics...I don't recall these ever looking good on anybody! Plus side of ordering a jacket you don't really like...I literally could care less when it arrives!

I was thinking maybe they had to use different hides than normal to get pieces big enough to make a size 54 and it's not actually regular comp weight?

Whatever it is, it looks horrible. I've seen better looking "leatherette" on those old Buco's. Damn, just made me appreciate the good ol' LW a lot more. Vanson seriously needs to do something about this, even if it means raising the prices.
