Imagine how dull it would be in a world without Steves!
There's not too many Mad Max's around although there is my Red Foot Tortoise, Max, pictured on the right.
My wife's daughter named the tortoise as we weren't sure if we had a male or female hatchling so Max is now short for Maxine.
Both are beautiful names[emoji4]

Happy New Year, loungers.
I took your advice and went with this for my gig outfit last night. As roarin’ ‘20s as I could come up with, like most of the country was doing I think.

@Short Balding Guy, I couldn’t find any spectator shoes in a pinch, but they are most definitely on my radar now! Had to go with my navy Stacy Adams oxfords because although the colors aren’t contrasting, the materials are.

The hat is a tall Knox extra quality vented bowler, likely from an appropriate vintage or so.

The moustache was merely stubble, but my daughter insisted on enhancing it. She would hardly let me out the door otherwise. Also, I can’t remember removing my sideburns like this, maybe since 9th grade.

Two beautiful looking tortoises, Steve. I have a theory that when the Bowler brothers developed the Bowler for Lock & Co customer and landowner Edward Coke's country estate workers, they had the tortoise's hard protective shell in mind.

Outstanding! What a great way to start the year. Being the Roaring 20s, we all need to dress accordingly for a while. Happy New Year my friend.

Celebrated 2020 with my dearest theater friends last night. Since it was the "Roaring 20s", I debuted my new pin striped 1920s suit and new Spectators. The homburg is in the 1920s style, timeless. It was my Hardeman "Governor" c.1949. Of course, I had my flappers with me and Molly "the Moll" Had a perfect evening, so much laughing and fun!

Can't stay on here long. Spent 6+ hours in emergency yesterday treating severe headache and vomiting. I sure hate all the drugs.

Max, intravenous toradol was a lifesaver. 3 new meds and a follow up visit with the surgeon, but also a warning to stay off computer screens and laptops while i recover from surgery.

Grabbed a stingy Charles Knox on the way to the hospital. Me, after 12 hours of hell...

Hang in their, Doug. We’re all praying for you and hoping you recover soon.

Great one, and another nice looking flange on it.
I didn’t realize Dan Tyminski had his own band. He’s amazing. I only know him from Alison Krauss.

Yeah, he’s got a heck of a band as seen here in this recent video. Seen him ten years ago in Charleston sc. Dan’s definitely the man! On the YouTube vid titled, “mix-free born man Dan Tyminski Band” , make sure to catch the mando break! Killer! Don’t know who he is, but this guy cuts his gig, and then some! Banjo guy, too!

I couldn't get your link to work; my search pulled up this video from 2008:

In this video, Adam Steffi is the mandolin player - great big guy playing that little bitty instrument makes it fun to watch! He, Barry Bales (the bass player in the video), and Dan were all once part of Allison Krauss's regular band, along with the superbly talented Ron Block who is not on this video. They were all fantastic to see and hear, and then Allison decided to turn her back on bluegrass/folk music and tour for a while with Robert Plant. Thus ended my infatuation with her... ;)
