I ain't no Cheech or Chong Jim, so I've never enjoyed a bong. Guess I don't know what I'm missing [emoji6]

Maybe a deal breaker as far as a big tweek. A little tweek should be okay minus reed. Sounds like Randall only has to put the hat on his head a while to tweek to fit.

Agreed. He sounds like he doesn't have far to go.

In the Spanish American version, Quick Draw (Tiro Loco McGraw) speaks in a very English-influenced accent, and Baba Looey (Pepe Trueno, or Pepe Luis in some episodes) speaks in a very Mexican accent, so it was clear that Quick Draw was the alien, and there was no need to adapt any feature of the story.

And that’s exactly what I decided to try last night and tonight—-before reading this thread. [emoji15]. And it’s working! Makes my head ache , but very carefully and very slowly I’ve been pulling the hat down on my noggin and has incrementally yielded to my long ovaled melon. So...glad I’ve done this right.
Since it got here the sweat has been treated with leather conditioner. So far, no problems with the threads, and I’m close to having a good, comfortable fit. Yay!
Nice hat. won’t hesitate to buy another Borsalino, if I can find them where I can afford them. This one was sixty bucks, including shipping from the Bay. [emoji4]

A gentle on the head stretch is a good way to go, Randall [emoji145]
$60 for a vintage Borsalino is a real nice find, my friend. Especially for one this special. Congrats once again.

I am saying that. They did send out homburg hats in those small boxes (cardboard, not metal). Here are the pics from a folder by Cambini. A homburg is listed on the first page after that and the last page shows that all of the hats listed could be shipped in one of those boxes. Most of these were sold post-war up until the early fifties.
The meaning of any of the Borsalino model names is a mystery we haven't solved yet. This label was used in the time period, but I think the Augusta line of hats dates from the post war years, so likely your hat is mid forties to early fifties.

Thanks for the info, Stefan. You ARE the man!
I have a hard time believing THIS hat, though soft, light and supple, could be shoved in one of those little containers!
And then be reconstituted to its original condition with some “water steam”?
These Borsa makers must be magical wizards if that’s so!!
I won’t be trying it. THAT’S certain.

Glad that technique worked Randall, definitely easier on the hat. Congrats.

A little steam and some reblocking and it will be a nice wearer for sure. I'm a stingy brim fan, so my bias is clear[emoji1][emoji106]
