I agree but man. Looks awfully trim. Sleeves in particular. Those could give you a good blood pressure read. Wonder if there’s some flexibility there, in terms of the diameter.

Yes, great looking jacket! Hopefully he will be open to some customizing.

For me, I would delete the lapels, add body & sleeve length and make sure the measurements also work with a full figured man. Lol! Once again very nice jacket! Reminds me of a cross of multiple makers with nicer materials.

Yep looks like a slim cut. I think if one wants a slightly more relaxed fit could size up and adjust length?

I quite like the collar on the black cross zip.

Seems promising.
The collar on the navy CR was a bit on the taller side.
That rider is too short for his frame. In my experience very trim cuts work better with CR styled jackets, riders and classic styles are better with a regular or slightly trim cut.

A few pics of a cool jacket Greg put up today. Turquoise Badalassi. I’m not sure if I could pull this off, but I’m sure somebody here could.

I like the blue/green tinge to that hide. It was a popular alternative to black in a lot of British jackets (especially Lewis and the likes) from c.1977 until that industry began to decline in the mid-late eighties.

The test jackets are looking good. Unfortunately, it looks like he’s using the Aero style needles... with these beautiful leather choices, he doesn’t need to be leaving such large stitch holes. I’m very interested to see the jackets after they’re worn awhile to see if they also develop the Aero wavy zipper syndrome.

It’s not the size, it’s the style. Aero uses a needle with a ball on the tip to punch the hole. A tapered needle allows the hole to close a bit around the thread.

I feel maybe the smooth needle would 1) break half way through CXL & 2) the thick thread may unravel/stuck. Maybe after trial & error only the ball needle works throughout the whole jacket with FQHH

I asked Greg about the stitching out of curiosity and got this reply:

I don’t use the same needle size as Aero, they use a 23 and I use a 19. 23 has a ballpoint but mines doesn’t. The trail line goes away after 10/15 min, that’s just from the pressure from the walking foot machine.
