I'm VERY familiar with this song (the original) sat in with a Rockabilly Quintet one night and hammered it. Big Joe's voice is very similar to Wynonie Harris' who also sang risque lyrics over what's essentially proto-Rock and Roll. I believe the true phrasing is:

"You wear them dresses the sun come shinin' through...
"You wear dem dresses that the sun come shinin' through...
"I can't believe my eyes that all of dis belongs to you...

Big Joe was a master, not on the level of Chuck lyrically.. but he was no slouch... couldn't play him today though... Me too would burn the station down!

Always been a collector since a little kid HOWEVER within the last 5 years I have had to clean out the houses of family members who have passed away. Going though people's homes and tossing out dumpsters and dumpsters full of stuff/crap made me purge big time so I have no more excess in closets, garage, etc. I don't want to leave tons of stuff for the fam to deal with after I "go" I'm just old enough to be legit thinking about this. My obsession is slowly having less and less so when the time comes I've go a suitcase full of stuff....that's it.

S**t CBI!! Been thinking the exact thing about my hats and jackets and...etc.
I hate thinking everything i love will end up at the dump. But letting go is a tough nut to crack.

You are very knowledgeable of those unsung greats of that era. A quick check on my jukebox turntable and I currently have, among others:
Willie Mitchell, Bull Moose Jackson, Louis Jordan, LaVern Baker, Rufus Thomas, Smiley Lewis & Nappy (Napolean) Brown. As well as Big Joe Turner, of whom I have many of his records.

Can anyone help? This copy of: "Raunchy," sung by Bill Justis, has what looks like a capital 'A' on one side. Does anyone know what it means? I know it's not the A side and I know it's a demo, or at least I think it's a demo. Look carefully at the right hand side and you will see: "not for sale." Incidentally, I've had some serious offers for the record, but as I point out, it says on the label, not for sale.
