What is your favorite hat crease?

This is a new hat that allowed me some nice latitude in creasing......
My wife called it the "Steer Head" (we have been watching a lot of westerns lately)....

Here are some shots of a recent acquisition: a Dobbs West "Saddler"......one of my special "question mark" creases......

I have been wearing my early 50's Lion Hats Playboy clone a lot lately and keep playing with the crease.......

My wife would call it a modified "Steer head".

And finnally......in answer to an inquiry of the art behind a hat picture....YES....that is General Lee.....a painting I did some almost 40 odd years ago.....

The “Rooster Comb”

You can do it front to back as well as side to side and it then becomes the “Soft Serve” crease.

Looks like a Six-Shooter Crease :

Just a little modified , the dent on the right side of the Hat is out making it look like 2 , just push it in . It has a forward center crease and side dents and 2 in the back . Not a Six Shooter but similar .

Thanks. I have that chart and a couple of others. Seeing them on a real hat is a lot different than seeing photos. Additionally, the same creases go by various names over time, location, and person.

I have an oldish but not quite “vintage” Tom Mix that I’m looking for some ideas for. I’m thinking about branching out from what I usually do.

Most all those complicated creases can be done by hand with enough time & attention to detail, but as you know in production & semi-production hats most are pressed in which makes for a firm hat.
