I thought you all might like to see my custom size 38 Aero Board Racer since it features some uncommon selections.

For maximum comfort and mobility I opted for battered steerhide and added shoulder gussets. It feels like I'm cheating with respect to breaking in the jacket!

Other options include a T back with no kidney panels, zipper-less hand warmers, the Aero "Rock n Roll label", a left side vertical interior pocket, and adding an inch in both body and sleeve length. For lining I chose olive cotton drill with olive sateen for the sleeves.

The fit is perfect and it was such a pleasure to deal with Carrie at Thurston Bros during the entire process.

Nice fit. I am very surprised how even the colour is or is it just the pics?

Aero's battered hides different from Aero's tumbled hides?
I only have experience with battered tan horsehide and can compare it with Aero's tumbled horsehide. The weight and thickness is similar as far as my two jackets are concerned - I guess my tumbled CXL one was just a thinner/lighter horsehide batch. The battered tan horsehide feels also thicker/heavier than Vicenza HH even if Aero also calls it mid-weight leather and at least my battered tan jacket was as stiff as a normal tumbled CXL HH jacket or probably slightly stiffer. The battered tan HH is not shiny at all and the feel/touch of the leather is like the description says "battered" (and waxy...difficult to describe)....the look and character of the battered tan HH gives the leater a vintage look as you know from many beautiful pics from @HoosierDaddy 's battered tan Teamster. This is my favorite leather from Aero's portfolio even if I know that Horween CXL are their top sellers (or even Vicenza but I'm not a big fan of Vicenza). As far as their battered steer is concerned, I'm sure there are others who hopefully can compare both leather types better than I can do.

The battered leather selection from Aero is one that definitely intrigues me and one I don't see enough of. I would love to see more examples and pics of any color of battered or tumbled leathers.
