Very cool boots! You can write Justin. Their history department has been pretty helpful in dating some boots for me.

Older Justins from the 1950's-60's had cloth tags sewn inside the boot.
They did a line of boots in the 2000's named Justin Vintage that had cloth pulls like yours, might be one of those.

The cloth pulls would have been in use from the early 50s on back. Like Rob said, they did make a line in the 2000s that were reproductions of their older boots, but they were made from pre-distressed looking leather. From the photos, yours look like a good, smooth leather...and the toe shape doesn't look like anything from the more modern line. Take Bob's advice and contact Justin. They probably can help.

Thrifted these yesterday in Hardy, Arkansas.
Mid-1960s (?) Tony Lama black label (early version) with rolled edge Algonquin moccasin vamp. Looks like they had new soles added, worn a couple of times and then put away until donated. $15.00.
Rough pair of Lucchese Seville goatskin square toes. I can wear the $8.00 worth of life out of them.

Both great scores, Bob, but those red TLs are some next level awesome. Those belong on stage at the Grand Old Opry....or at least they did 50 or so years ago.

Brings up an interesting question, I see you're tag line says you're a boot size 11.5 or 12. Will these 12.5's be a problem? thick socks?

I gave them a quick try at the thrift store and I think thick socks will work. Gave them a good clean and lube with Bick-4 and will give them a try tomorrow.

I was bemoaning the fact that I didn't have any "Christmas" boots a few weeks back (no...not really). I think I've solved that for this year. I have no idea what these are, but I liked them and they were cheap. I'll get interior pics when they arrive.

Nice ones, Cuz! You've posted quite a few pics of these and I've always thought they had round toes, but I can see from these close ups (and maybe because I'm using my tablet, and not my phone) that it's a box toe. Subtle, but they definitely jump up to a little point there on the end, like a hybrid x-toe. Very cool and interesting feature.

Thanks, Cuz. I do wear these a good bit. Depending on the angle they are looked at, the toe does appear round but comes to almost as fine a point as an X-toe but has a slight rise in the toe and there’s that slight undercut of the toe like a traditional box toe. Rocketbuster offers a version of it they call the “Rhino” toe. These boots are the first I’ve seen out in the wild with this toe.
You may remember, Dale that the Wilson boots are what brought me to TFL. I was visiting forums trying to figure out who “Bob Wilson” the boot maker is. Never had any luck until @BobHufford ran across some info and a pic of the barbershop Wilson ran several years ago. I did some more digging and found out he was a boot maker but never ran a full time shop, just something else he would do along with barbering and shoeing horses. I found it fascinating that he put himself through the different tech schools.

Greg your Wilson’s toe made me think of the Bond toe. They appear to be similar. It’s been awhile since i posted these so it wasn’t hard putting them to use today. These are my besties and to you i thank again.
