This whole thread seems unnecessary. OP experiences a brief glitch with the website, and posts here alleging that SB has either been hacked or gone out of business, neither of which is fact. In light of the usual bad publicity for SB that gets generated by this forum whenever they're brought up, perhaps the site administrators should shut this down before it gets out of hand.

I agree. I usually check the SB Outlet a few times a week. There have been no issues with their site. Move along, nothing to see here.

Fair enough. Let’s move on. It wasn’t meant as an anti SB post. I was trying to buy a jacket from them. For whatever technical reasons with either them or me I have been unable to make contact through their website, email or phone.
Thanks to those who took the time to check for me or reply.

Site worked fine for me on work PC. I have McAcfee Anti-virus on my home PC and when I try to go to that site I get a warning saying it's not secure. I did not have this issue on my work PC. Maybe just over-protective anti-virus software?

I'm just curious, and not at all trying to be negative, but they keep reffering to Oakland, CA. When searched on Google for this, nothing comes up. But thier website clearly shows:

I think the "Bilt" of Simmons Bilt is homage to the vintage manufacturer Block-Bilt. IIRC Block Bilt was from Oakland, CA?

Funny, even the Rainbow Country repros use a label which has Oakland on it.

Simmons Bilt actually stared out in the 20th century manufacturing jackets in Oakland, CA. When Alexander Leathers of Scotland changed their name they chose Simmons Bilt to pay homage to the earlier maker.
It is a funny thing though. I have one of their jackets and the label has an Oakland address that is only about three miles away from my front door. My brother saw the jacket and asked me if it was local. “No, it’s from Scotland” I replied, “it’s a long story though...”

The output of the sales page has certainly diminished. I check it every now and again but it seems the same little cluster of jackets are locked in perpetual unsold purgatory.

I have 2 Simmons Bilt jackets and they are impeccably made. I really like them both

Both my most recent arrivals , brand new from Alabama no less ! ( Funny old world !)

A Nebraska collared café racer and a J100 café racer. Both are great on the Harley.

That and I am at least 100% more attractives to the wimmens than at any time before..

They are definitely still operating I have a custom Deer Skin car coat being made for me currently, patterned off a old Swedish goatskin car coat I bought off the bay

Well all I can add is I had substantial direct contact with Simmons Bilt all the way thru' November and December last year and things were 100% smooth. Even although my jackets were from "Proconsul" in the USA.

I'd suspected that the true, super-secret and ultra-sensitive function of the thread was to have Simmons Bilt somehow canonised or, balls out, assumed into heaven via whirlwind or chariot. You know, like Elijah.

Maybe each and every person who works there is an unrepentant criminal, but probably not. The jacket was solidly constructed and exactly what I'd requested.

Oh, the murky world of horsehide.
