I love slub, the uniqueness and irregularity of it. These are 18-oz Super Heavy Slub from Gustin. Compared to PBJ (Pure Blue Japan) pricing this is poor-man's slub at $130. I believe lounger @casechopper has the same pair (there is a thread on FL). I also recently scored a pair of Brave Star Slubnoxious from @John D Maccarter. Would appreciate pics if there are other slub fiends here.

I have a pair of Gustins that I like a lot. However I am still wearing them just around the house in an attempt to break them in so they don't look so shiny and new. It is a daunting task....maybe I need to take them outside and roll around in the muck for a bit to speed up the process.

Levi’s 501 STF are my beaters. I have them in several colours. For a regular straight fit imho are difficult to beat. As other have said I think the indigo rigid (501-0000) are still a decent quality. I have had new old stock from the early 90’s and they were no better than today’s. in fact, I think the stitching on the current pairs is much more solid than it used to be 30 years ago.

Fancier pairs I own normally come from Japan. I like a lot warehouse denim, great vintage feel. At the moment my most worn jeans are however orSlow. They are easily available and generally orSlow is a brand a like a lot.

I used to live in black jeans (black everything) but all my more recent Levi's went shiny really quick. Anything you can do to stop this? Is it a sign of poor cotton? Takes about two days of wear.

Are they stretch? I don’t see you buying the stretch type jeans but I haven’t noticed that with my 517’s. They do fade fast though. I use rit dye every couple months to bring them back to crisp black. Never shiny though. Just a bit too acid washed looking.

I wear Levi's 604 for the most part. MADE IN AUSTRALIA but not since maybe 2003 !

Production was moved offshore around then. "Sign of the times"

They "just fit right" in 36" waist and 34" leg. Black and blue I have several pairs in rotation.

So the ones I buy now are lightly used from Aussie Gumtree and/or local thrift stores. $7 to $30 ( AUD)

I have enough to see me for a few more years but they are understandably getting harder to find now.

I also have 2 brand new Wrangler deep indigo , bought on US eBay NOS. Like "cardboard", same as when I bought new jeans as a wee boy 50+ years ago ! These are the original "shrink to fit" type

13 WMZ Original fit Cowboy cut MADE IN USA all from the attached tags.

I still have mall jeans bought when i was in junior highschool 1990 91, funny thing it fits since it was baggy fit then, still intact, other jeans i have since highschool 1994 all still intact no crotch hole or anything, these are just local mall brands and one black levi since hs, all fit big on me now so i have them altered to continue wearing at home. The color is very 90s and all with zips. Not sure if current mall jeans might last beyond few years, probably their elastene will rot after few years.

No, you're right, not stretch - 504's. I never thought to dye them. They go shiny at the knees and on the ass.

Hip teens don't wear blue-jeans??

Nah, come on, I still got my teenage 32"/32"...

The bright blue of my new two storebrand slim-fit from C&A, which are, as I mentioned before, surprisingly good! And true-to-size. No zipper, buttoned!

These days I just wear STF 501's, but in honor of this thread I pulled out two pairs I used when I had a more laborous Job. I'm wearing the first pair today.

This is a pair of Livid Jeans which is Norwegian denim merchant hailing from my hometown. I think this pair uses Kuroki denim. They started out raw.

The second pair is a pair of wrangler Ben. I used these every Day when I used to deliver icecream. They also started out raw back in 2010.

Wearing some Nudie jeans at the moment, simply because of the cuts and the Made in Italy tags. I have gone pass the selvedge fever and have decided that it is not all that important. There are still a few pairs of LVCs and some Japanese jeans in my drawers but they are probably going to sit in there as my collection. The one thing that I want to try is the 23oz Iron Heart but I very much prefer the comfort rather than the ruggedness these days.
