So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I have mentioned this before, it really burns me when an able bodied person uses a family members handicapped tag to park in a handicapped space. I need to use these spaces in order to have enough room for my wife’s wheelchair, and there are only a few such spaces. When someone hops out of their car and runs into the supermarket, I am fairly certain that person is not disabled.

People see a few open parking spaces reserved for disabled people in an otherwise well-occupied parking lot and they get to thinking such is the norm.

But people who really need those parking spaces know it isn’t normal at all. Especially for people in motorized wheelchairs who need a good 7 or 8 feet of open space on the right side of the accessible vehicle to get down the extended ramp, even “accessible” spaces aren’t necessarily accessible.

Some years ago I remember a big fuss about a disabled driver fighting back. He had window stickers printed with the caption:
"Is this the only time that you ever put yourself in our place?"
It was pre-social media but the press got hold of it. One driver, far from being shamed, displayed it. Talk about brazen.

A few weeks ago I had to threaten to call the police on a man who had parked his van in the "crosshatch" area adjacent/between the disabled parking spaces (the area reserved for wheelchair ramps/lifts). The small(ish) parking lot was indeed mostly filled, but there were spaces available not more than 30 yards from where he had decided to illegally park his van. He was prepared to argue the issue until I informed him of the potential financial penalties for leaving his van where it was, at which point he apparently decided it wasn't worth the risk (particularly after seeing my cell phone in-hand) and moved it to a proper parking space.

I’ve known of wheelchair users who used keys to scratch the universal person-in-wheelchair symbol into the paint of offending vehicles.

Yeah, I know, two wrongs don’t make a right, but still ...

Believe me, when I rule the world all traffic wardens will be issued with a six inch nail and instructions on exactly how to use it on improperly parked cars...

You can't go to a classic car show without coming home with a souvenir. I have lost two hub caps to light fingered thieves and the problem that I have is the originals have a deep red background behind the MG letters, the replacements are black. The joys of classic ownership.

Might it have something to do with motorists slipping and sliding on snowy and icy pavement? You know, their wheels rub up against curbs and snowbanks and such and knock off the wheel covers?

Could be an explanation, but we got actually mostly mud over mud, in old Germany, not that much ice and no snow.

I'm not complaing about weather itself, because there's no bad weather, the're just bad clothes.

But THIS year is unbelievable. Spring with mild temperatures starts in January and it's raining more than in the last five years together! This will be a bad start of the year for german infrastucture. If this weather will last the whole February, some asphalt-roads will give up, train connections will pobably be troubled, fields will send their water mud down on the streets and so on... .

Pay attention and avoid public transportation as much as possible, these days.

Usually, I don't get sick, underways. But I went by train, two days in succession, some days ago. Then was a little incubation time and two days ago, it broke out. But it's just a light classic infection of HNO (neck/nose/ears) and luckily no real sniffles.

No need for visiting uncle doc, just doing the best for this case: BED + GOOD OLD SAGE TEA! :)

Even already yesterday, it went better in the afternoon and today, it's nearly beaten.
