So let's start with the thanks: Wayne in distant NZ who agreed to the exchange of two velours and to our friend Stefan who contributed with a Borsalino meal to which I added one too. The hats have traveled the continents and here are the ones that arrived in the large brick and tuff house in Verona

Ecuyer & Thomas size 58 cm which, fortunately, has adapted to my head.

Made in France, it is of a thick velvet and with a satin hair

Light and very malleable. Certainly different from some Huckel or Borsalino that I have handled over the years
View attachment 209396
For a perfect description of the velour I will wait Steve in Verona who will give his precious opinion to understand where it comes from and its quality
View attachment 209397
It will soon be show in the new hats section

I must confess that I am very happy because I made other loungers satisfied with velour hats of splendid quality, but I had no one, until a magnificent hat from Steve as a gift some years ago.
Thanks again Wayne and Stefan without whose generosity this would not have been possible

Very cool story Daniele, and beautiful velour. I’m gonna have to get me one.....

It appears you are Steve and in fine fashion as well! This Tapatalk issue had me worried. I can't imagine the Lounge without some of you fine folks and your hats.

I know, right, Bob?

When I joined you had to take a picture, send it off to get it developed, send it to a Bartender, who would mail it to everyone in the conversation. We'd make our replies or likes, then send it back to the Bartender, who would then redistribute it to everyone. Man, even without Tapatalk, this is a lot easier! :D

And back when Charlie joined, they had the cuneiform tablets...

Well I am officially indoctrinated into the Dutch Connection, and what a way to go in - this absolutely fabulous Borsalino Ecosan, Qualita Extra Extra Superiore in the color Averla, from between 1945 - 1955.

I had to wait for some Sun so I could take photos outside worthy of this fine hat. Also broke out the Canon L Series glass, no phone pics for this one (other than the selfies).

Thanks Stefan, an absolute pleasure to deal with you.

More on the New Hats thread.....

I didn’t snap a pic of today’s hat... but while out doing some thrifting I did come across this interesting number. I get the feeling someone is either disappointed or quite relieved tonight when they didn’t get to wear this baby after their birthday dinner at their local Mexican place. Quite impressive and only 8 bucks!

Definitely a piece of art!

And then there was this rather Cosby-esque sweater

The venerable Stratoliners are dynamite! Terrific example.

A post-war Stetson, modest in price but robust in dimension and style. Hard to photograph the color accurately, blue spruce might be close.

Alan, that is a true classic hat in model, characteristics and condition. Just glorious.

Thanks Michael! It's been in the New Hat and 3X threads before (showing off it's embroidered liner). :D

Looking sharp Bob.

View attachment 209385 View attachment 209386 I wore this one days ago and wanted to post it then. The FL decided otherwise due to Tapatalk issues.

Anyway, Borsalino Qualitá Superiore in mirtillo. Sadly, you can't see that great blueberry colour in the photo.

Take care folks. Hope I'm back

Steve, keeping you continue to keep it classy. Glad you are sorting the access issues with the website and posting out.

Glorious well travled hat!

Everytime you post pics of your Stetsonian I regret not jumping on that train. It looks dynamite.

Relaxing with Art Fawcett, Joe Satriani and Pete Johnson. Natural featherweight.

Featherweight Art stands on it's own, but with your accoutrements(music/smoke) it is a star on an afternoon.

Hey all!
This Stephen L. Stetson Olympic Quality on an overcast afternoon.

Have a great day!

Excellent S.Stetson example.

Dynamite hat. You have no pedestrian hats as much as I have seen. Keep them coming Bill.

Very nice additions!
Thanks Hector, your collection improve everyday. Bravo!

It looks wonderful, Daniele. Happy to have had a contribution to the exchange. It's only right for the authority who has shown us the many qualities of the Italian hats and their makers.
Stefan I do my best for the Italians producers, you have done your best for this exchange :) Thanks

Very cool story Daniele, and beautiful velour. I’m gonna have to get me one.....
Thanks Tim, for now you have a precious Borsalino to wear, but in your size this velours appears more than mine

Wonderful Daniele... and I enjoyed the story as well.
Thanks Joe, your passion for hats is wonderful

Glorious well travled hat!
Thanks Eric, I always support your hats choice
