FS: Sears Oakbrook D-pocket Leather Jacket, sz. 38

Looking to sell this fantastic Sears - Oakbrook Sportswear D-pocket cross zip / double rider leather jacket, in a size 38.

Price is $300.

▶Info◀
If I am not mistaken, this is the early 1960's version of this very popular style. Not much difference from the 50's version. I much prefer the collar on this one.

Beautiful, over-dyed, surprisingly thick & heavy leather. Just look at the grain and the texture.
All the zippers are Conmar; padded, quilted lining all throughout the jacket; corduroy strip at the hem; collar snaps; D-pocket w/ coin pocket, etc. You know the drill.

Perfect, 10/10 jacket, just a tiny bit too tight for me in the waist. Fits like a 40, but there is a considerable taper toward the waist. The rest of the jacket fits surprisingly roomy for a 38. Very comfortable, perfectly designed, flattering cut...

▶Condition◀
Incredibly enough, I honestly can't find a single flaw anywhere on this jacket worth pointing out.
Some fading around the seams, of course, and here and there on the leather but that's it. Some black shoe creme and the jacket will look nearly as good as new.
Perfectly clean, both leather and lining. Absolutely NO odor or smell. All zippers work perfectly.
Rarely seen in such a good condition.

▶Size◀
Measurements are...
  • Chest width (armpit to armpit): 59 cm / 23"
  • Waist width: 47 cm / 18.5"
  • Shoulder width: 49 cm / 19.5"
  • Sleeve length: 66 cm / 26"
  • Back length: 61 cm / 24"

▶Etc.◀
This is a high quality jacket. It fits and looks incredibly nice. Leather is amazing. I am not letting it go super cheap because you are getting a fantastic jacket. That's something I can guarantee you.

PayPal F&F. Shipping to EU is 15 Euros. Elsewhere, we'll figure it out.

Thanks for your interest!

@Austinite, if you mean the spiral crease on the right front side, it's literally just that - a crease. I never even noticed it until now but I just checked the leather and it isn't even any different at the spot.
The jacket has no punctures nor dents.

@Will Zach, the liner is original, of course. What made you ask?
Everything on this jacket is original. It hasn't been repaired, restitched or modified in any way. Everything is in its original state.

Thanks, @tmitchell59 ! And yep, it's definitely a quality leather jackets. I'd place it a level above Schott of the same era.

Man, that's beautiful, and a perfect fit, but I just blew $350 on a hat from Honolulu. Dammit.

If it fits you... I dunno, finding one just like it in such condition won't be easy. And I think I priced it fairly.

But regardless of the measurements I've provided, this jacket does fit like 38. Not even numbers tell the entire story but it doesn't fit as comfortably as the measurements would suggest.

Thank you @AbbaDatDeHat - It indeed is a great jacket in a great condition for what I believe is a great price.

This is incredibly beautiful jacket in person, hard to capture it in the photos. But it's that old school leather, without plastic-y finish. They just don't make 'em as they used to.

I have the earlier Hercules version, ya it's horsehide and all but the back is 22.5, not 24 with the same pit to pit something to consider if one is longing for a wearable jacket and I feel I got a deal at $400. I do wear the Hercules with a 22.5 back but I feel the jacket stands out

To the top.

Cannot overstate how fantastic the condition of this jacket is. Zippers and everything are as good as on a brand new jacket. Such a well made piece.

I own almost an exactly the same year model. I can vouch its almost a hidden gem. People know Oakbrooks and they dont claim a ton of money on the market. But the fit, the leather, the general look, I couldnt be happier that I picked one up. Really I posted a ton of jackets I would love a way to trade out, some "worth" more than the Oakbrook but the Oakbrook made the keep pile. They are just for the money they tend to go for, just a great jacket. GLWS.

Absolutely and if it was a 40, this thread wouldn't exist. But I honestly was amazed by how amazing this jacket is when I unboxed it. From fit to construction. Many of those beautiful vintage jackets feel... Well, kind of flimsy nowadays, after you've seen Vanson, Lost Worlds, Aero, etc. - not this one. It's as sturdy and solidly built as anything nowadays with a leather to match. Even the chain pulls seem somehow tougher than nowadays.

Just an outstanding jacket all around. TBH, I won't ever understand why do these sell dirt cheap while Buco's go for thousands.
