Tried out the Highwayman in a few basic fits. Got word back from Denny. I'll share his comments later. *cliffhanger*

First, let me know what these pics tell you. Cheers and thanks for all your help again!

I stand by what i originally said, i wouldn't change a thing.
Please don't make it longer to try to match the length of your T-shirt, that would be all kind of wrong.

If you really really want to play around with things, maybe a half size taper down at the bottom hem, but i'm not sure it is even necessary.

No way I am changing the length. That's one of the things I've been sure of all along.

Thanks for your input buddy!

Those photos do show it in a better way, I like it - most of all, what do you think? Would you wear it as-is? It is a big investment so it's good to think it through carefully. :)

I think we can safely say, at this stage, the OP is over-thinking it........but thats what this place does best! ( especially when many of us have lined up to say don't change a thing....and we are approaching page 6 of discussions...)

What did Denny say? Probably something along the lines of "Don't listen to anyone on TFL they are all mentalists!"

All right, about Denny. I emailed him the first set of photos in this thread and asked for his advice. His answer was (I assume, and hope, he doesn't mind me sharing it here):

"I have to say I think the fit looks pretty spot on.

Sleeves can be quite a personal thing and there is no real right or wrong ( within reason). Some people like wrists fully covered and sleeve to “rest” on hand, other prefer it to sit like a dress shirt and be around wrist bone and not touch the hand. Some people want to be able to easily see their watch etc,…… The fact that you are not using on a bike means you do not need extra compensation for handle bar reach.

As for sleeve shortening with wear this isn’t a big factor and isn’t a guaranteed thing either way. The “Shortening” of sleeves is due to creases on the inner elbow area, these creases “lift” the sleeve length slightly. Looking at the pictures the jacket is showing the creases so the length won’t really get any shorter. Somepeople find that sleeves that start of too long end up shortening the most because the long sleeve bunches up against the hand and creates more creasing.

I would say the body length looks spot on and is sitting exactly where it is designed to sit.

I would also not change the sizing of the body, the fit looks good, both with side adjusters used and not. With a heavy leather jacket you don’t want it skin tight, you need there to be a bit of room to move with your body, twist and move as you move.

I would say that you should maybe give that one a chance and keep that one. For the sake of ½” here or there you could spend extra money and a wait time and end up with a jacket either too tight or very little difference in fit (any custom made jacket is made with ½” tolerance levels)"

Well i guess that sorts it then?
