AND hat condoms are a good idea when boxing a hat too! Helps protect the hat from the effects of tha acids in the box itself.......

My first Playboy. Unlined and delightfully thin and moldable felt. The hat is in wonderful condition other than an area around the circumference of the crown above the ribbon. The discolored area/stripe is even all the way around. Curious.

The outside natural light gives the most accurate rendering of the color. 2 1/2” brim and 5 5/8” open crown.

The size tag, which needs to be reinstalled, carries the Stetson name and 1/4. The felt is typical soft, buttery, and easily shaped felt. I had to tackle some verdigris in the felt, but that cleaned up pretty nice. There is a small rust stain on the ribbon, but I won't lose too much sleep over that.
