A change of pace from the darker beers of late - Deschutes Fresh Haze IPA. The fruit background with a hazy/malty flavor was enjoyable.

It is not to cold for a beer as the beer is not freezing. Yet.

Visited the local liquor store on my way home. Guinness, Deschutes, Omni, Surley and Lagunitas were beers I picked up. My beer refrigerator is better stocked. I arrived home and feel obliged to sample a Deschutes Obsidian Stout. Excellent beer from the first sip. I also have some Deschutes Black Butte Porter and I am curious to compare them.

Last night was the right time to open Rock Town's Apple Pie Lightening recently gifted by Rusty @RBH. Breaking the seal brought an aroma of tart apple & cinnamon, much like a candle. Since I drink most everything neat that's how I poured a couple of drams. Light golden color much like apple juice. Taste upfront was that of a tart or sour apple & cinnamon; Jolly Rancher apple candy. Smooth with no taste of alcohol, no burn. Aftertaste brought a taste of apple strudel; naturally sweeter still with no burn. With my second pour I added a few ice chips to help calm the artificial cinnamon down, & much preferred it to neat. Distilled at 20% ABV/40 proof makes it very drinkable. Might be idea in a cocktail like an appletini. Thanks again Rusty! I will definitely look for a Rock Town retailer for the White Lightening.

Shown with my BSHW in short nap Blue Heather.

Thanks for the review of the imfamous Rock Town.

This morning it was breakfast in the chocolate brown Gannon. Always pairs well with a Hunter Green shirt & tan suede coat.

And if you are ever on Ireland's west coast...

Mmmmm! More exotic beer to source.

Home this evening and sipping a Laguntas Willetized Coffee Stout. Willet Distillery had bourbon and rye in wood barrels before Lagunatas put Imperial Stout in them. The result is this black bodied stout with a strong bourbon and coffee flavor. Smooth and thick with only a partially hidden ABV warmth. For a snowy and cool evening it is a darn near perfect pour and sip.
