Really cool hat : Uncle Ralph from the 20s - any idea where I could find a similar one or find the name of this hat style ?
Uncle Ralph looks like a thoroughly dangerous man and bound to be the coolest no matter where he showed up. That's a tall crown, maybe 7", quite tapered with a wide brim, over 4'' western/cowboy hat. Many of those big hats of old had a bound brim but that one appears to have a raw edge, though hard to tell. Google some images of Tom Mix and cowboys from the early 20th century.

Resistol made a model called the "Hi-7". I think Michael R & maybe Joao have examples. Maybe they can weigh in on model yrs, availability, etc.
I have a Carlsbad 4x7 sold thru Sears & Roebucks. Catalog examples have been found for 1940 -1943.
Resistol made several models in their Stagecoach line. I have a couple of models known as the Outlaw (4-1/2x6-1/2) & the Dry Gulch (4x6-1/2). The problem is going to be finding the correct blocking to produce the taper you want. Joao has good info on the various models in the Stagecoach line. There may be other models.
Stetson made a few Tom Mix & Montana Peak models with 6-1/2" crown.
Finding a body big enough for a custom may be hard to find.
You're definitely looking for a 4x7 of the Carlsbad or Tom Mix style. They were popular in the West & Southwest during the 1920's - 1930's & early 1940's. Hi,
My cousin had this hat forever and she lost it a while back and doesn't remember the brand. I feel like it's smaller than a traditional fedora, the brim to crown ration is smaller, which I love as well as two ventilation holes, I usually find it with 3. If anyone recognizes this hat and who makes it, I would greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Don't look that old, 70s maybe? Looks like a pre creased crown. Not worth $300. Not every thin ribbon hat is a Stratoliner or Open Road, this hat has 2ply ribbon which disqualifies it from being either.
The thing us, unless it's marked on the sweatband or other labeling, we probably don't know what hat it is. Moreover, we would need better pics of the innards (size tag, liner, Stetson crest, reorder labels) to even approach an educated guess.

You’re right, it’s not a Stratoliner. Stetson has made a great many models, some have been discontinued and some have been revived. Many didn’t have the model name recorded anywhere on the hat. The hat in your photos looks like some sort of western or outdoors hat. Without seeing more, I don’t know that we can narrow it down. If I hadn’t seen the price I would have guessed this hat would sell in its used condition in the $100 range.
Even when we have high quality photos of all markings, tags, labels, etc., you are often unable to identify the exact model and/or age of a vintage hat. This hat is not that old, and could be quite recent production, but certainly not older than the 1960s. If you have $300 to spend on that style of hat you can get something much better with a little patience.

What is this hat style, for you Stetson historians out there - seems like a low-crown telescope/c-crown fedora with a moderately wider but still stingy brim. The listing on Ebay (too small in size for me) has it as a Royal Stetson/Gun Club on the headband. I like the look of it, just curious of the name for future searches. Thanks.

I have not seen a name for this kind of combo. If has a 2 inch or less brim, most would just call it a trilby. I had a custom Phoenix made a few weeks ago in a very similar configuration with a 2 1/4 brim and twin ribbons. Stetson made a similar triple ribbon hat called the Musketeer but it was more of a traditional style fedora.

It's more or less a pork pie, but you can put a telescope crease in most any open crown hat.
