Acquired taste? Just put it on your head, pull on your jeans, and pretend you're wearing a fedora! Before you know it, you'll hear, "Nice hat"!

Looks great Hector ! They are definitely an acquired taste, I’ll probably only wear mine for holiday gatherings or special occasions, but everyone needs at least one !!

Boy, that is a loose weave Joe.
I have a ‘flat cap’ style of about this same weave a picked up a few months back for a buck almost as a joke... cause it looked like an upside down fruit bowl. But I kid you not. when I put it on my head.. in just the slightest breeze how the air comes through those little holes feels like air conditioning. Surprised the heck out of me. I saw this one with that big brim and thought perfect for summer. I put it on and had almost Forgotten how that felt on my head.. and was surprised again for a second.

Bought this Knox Twenty from @Ethan Douglas. Been looking for a wide brim one and needed a classic light grey with black band, so this was perfect. Great condition and very nice proportions with a Cavanagh Edge. I’m thinking 50’s since it still has the crown height on the tag. Notice the detail on the wind trolley button, never seen that before. Experimented with the brim shape a little.

Wow, can’t say I’ve ever seen a flat cap like that.....

Tim I’m so glad you pulled the trigger on that one. It is absolutely perfect for you. Just a really beautiful hat... and you wear it so well my friend.

After its arrival today and a cleaning and steaming, here’s the late 50s/early 60s Mallory all fixed up and ready to go home with my lucky nephew.
Wish it fit me, but it’s a 1/2 so he’s coming to pick it up tomorrow morning. It’s such a great hat with the proportions, look and feel of an early forties felt body. I’ve never seen an Open Road clone with a Cavanagh edge, or as called on a Mallory, Duplex Edge.

Who wouldn’t love to be getting that hat?
Just a formality: it’s a thin ribbon, but it’s not an Open Road clone. One of the defining characteristics of the OR and clones is narrow brim binding. Personally, I’d take the felted edge over bound any day. That’s really some hat!

The last one I got from @Ivano and probably my favourite one.

The Brock fedora. Unlined and unreeded.
