"The feature-length, family-friendly comedy centers around a rude star actor who is pulled over for speeding while driving in a small Southern town. His sentence? To attend Mayberry Fest, where he learns a few things from the townspeople."

It's going to star some children of the actors who starred in The Andy Griffith Show and will be filmed in Danville, Indiana.

That's pretty much the plot of the actual pilot episode of "The Andy Griffith Show." The celebrity then was Danny Thomas, and the episode was made to be shown as an episode of Thomas's regular series. Sheriff Andy was much more of a cornpone character in that episode, much closer to the hayseed figure Griffith had played in "Make Room For Sergeants" -- "Awwwwww, shucks, mister..."
