Aero Indian Ranger back length question

Hi everyone.
I was wondering about what the proper back length is for the jacket like the Indian Ranger, is it supposed to sit at the top of the waistband of jeans? Middle of the belt loop? I feel like below the belt loop would be too long.

I have a cheap double rider style motorcycle jacket that unfortunately I don’t have on me currently, but would love to know everyone’s thoughts

I love cross zips like this one and I like the back to end right at the bottom of my belt or even a hair below. Any lower than that feels too long to me, especially if it is covering the top of the back pockets.
I know some people say these jackets should be worn much shorter, and there is plenty of photographic evidence to prove that they often were worn short back in the day.
That is all well and good but I simply do not feel comfortable wearing a jacket that rides above my belt in the back.

I believe the IR pattern is slightly longer than the usual cross zips of the period, resulting in a particular balance in proportions that is maybe what led Aero to consider it the finest MC jacket ever made.
I don't own one myself, but I have a Fidelity that is said to be close to the pattern, and the bottom hem sits just below the belt line, and I find it perfect.
Now, it all depends on the size of the jacket, not to mention the cut of the pants you're wearing (high or low rise). Aero's page features a picture of James Dean wearing a slightly oversized model thats goes way below his belt line.

It isn't longer than the usual cross zip. It might appear so on the picture of James Dean because he's wearing a really high rise pants.

But i would say it should sit right over the belt. But if you are wearing low rise pants, then i'd adwise to wear it top of the belt or the proportions of the jacket wouldn't look right.

So all in all for this style of jacket you should wear higher rise pants to achieve the right look.

The jeans I usually wear are fairly standard in that the belt would come right over the bony parts of my hips. I don’t know if they’re consider high rise or low rise but just pretty standard I would say?
I used a pair of Fullcount 1108 as reference when I done the measurements
