I don't think you need N-95 because N-95 is a fitted mask that is meant to cover the nose and mouth completely so unfiltered air cannot get in. As said, the face mask for the current condition and purpose is to keep the wearer's saliva from getting out and in a lesser extent other people's saliva from getting in.

Today i was shopping for rice grain and other groceries, saw some people wearing a mask, bought coffee at another shop I saw a young lady with a mask and cover her hands with plastic bags... confirmed cases in our town is 2 of which one died. Hand soap and alcohol based sanitizer left a long empty rack on every supermarket price jacked like its gold, still i can just easily buy 70% alcohol for usual dirt cheap and put them in small spray bottle if i ever ran out mine, and whats wrong with dishwasher soap they are usually good enough to wash fruit and probably better at stripping off the fatty skin of the virus anyway.

Hand soap is effective. Face masks are of little practical use (unless N-95 and properly fitted) if within a metre of coughs, etc., although in HK and around China and Korea people are wearing them. Practical self-isolation and social distancing and avoiding crowded areas are still the best bet at the moment, as well as keeping the immune system up by exercising and eating properly.
Guangzhou central health authorities recommend keeping floors bleached and surfaces wiped down.
Once you've done all that, don favourite jacket, hit Netflix and those novels you never read and pour a shot of scotch.

Agree, also what is the point of wearing a face mask if you are not wearing goggles?
To me the most important things are taking your shoes off when getting home so as not to trail nasties inside, washing your hands first thing when getting in, and not touching things with your hands then touching your face when you have to go out.
Also, you are right, this is prime break in season, i have managed to put 10+ hours a day on my LW, wouldn't have been able to do that i normal times...
I’m staying busy by painting my entire house. Even the basement is getting spruced up. I’m cleaning out all my crap and buying IH jackets in my downtime. If you want to avoid other people chuck a fake cough or sneeze into your sleeve. People will think you’ve been bitten and scatter like cockroaches under a fluorescent light.

It’s crazy when you pay attention to how often you touch your face.
What's more crazy to me is the obvious lack of understanding of things that the average person has!
Yesterday i had to go out to buy food, saw this group of 3 people in the underground in full glove and facemask outfit.
They walked down the escalators holding the handrail all the way down, then proceeded to get food out of their bags and eat it on the platform, holding the food with the gloves that had just been rubbed on 100m of public handrail!
It's like people think gloves and facemasks are a magical barrier against evil!

Yeah I shaved my beard because I’m always massaging it but when I cast my gaze into the mirror, a fetal pig stared back. Can’t grow it out again fast enough.
Here is my freshly painted living room/ laundry room cleaned out...moving onto the foyer tomorrow. Then the upstairs bedrooms. Painting is a great way to clean out old crap and freshen up the atmosphere. I used a lovely shade of lavender (Martha Stuart’s living line) for three walls and a crisp eggshell white for the 4th. I need to replace the ceiling fans too. Might do that next week. Trying to spread the workload so I don’t end up with nothing to do and painting the grass green.

I am in my 60s, have high blood pressure, live alone, have a cough, and am recovering from surgery. I am on a self-imposed stay at home order. I will go shopping soon once the crowds of hoarders have diminished, because I have been living for the last couple of weeks on my hurricane rations, and need fresh food as well as medication. If I had a mask, I would wear it, if for no other reason than I don't want to spread anything, and I don't think it would hurt either. I only have a home-made hand sanitizer, but have good habits and a lot of practice from my former profession on how not to cross contaminate with my hands. If I had gloves I would probably use them, but as I said I understand how to not cross contaminate with my hands, and also know how to use gloves. I am using a bleach solution of 3 Tablespoons of chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of water to sanitize surfaces in my home as recommended by the US CDC. In the restaurant business I used to use only 1 TBSP per gallon or about 200 PPM as per US FDA and local health department guidelines and regulations. There are no masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, or sanitizer wipes available here. No rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or even witch hazel available as well, and bleach and ammonia is even hard to come by on this island. If push comes to shove I will use vinegar, and/or hot water to sanitize things in my home, but as many have pointed out there is nothing like a good 20 second minimum hand washing with soap and hot water. I am only going to leave my apartment for absolute necessities until it seems that the inevitable overload of the medical system has lessened. There are only 18 ventilators on the entire island of +-70,000 residents, plus tourists (most of which will stop coming soon due to a 14 day quarantine).
No matter what, I am going to wear a nice horse hide leather jacket, and a 100% beaver felt hat when I go shopping, with or without a mask, but I will probably put a bandana across my face as well, just for the heck of it.

@jonesy86 does the island have access to amazonfresh or other grocery delivery service? it will probably take a few days to deliver but they'll bring it to your door..
