What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

My first 40s era Dobbs. Maybe even late 30s? idk. I know this: the flimsy felt makes for a super thin summer weight homburg.
It’s very nice. Near mint.
It arrived today misshapen, but shaped very easily with a just a bit of steam as if it couldn’t wait to be brought back to its former glory.

I read it long ago, but I’m off to the Dobbs dating thread again to see if I can nail down a closer guess on its build date.

I had already read what was offered by him in FL thread, but after you gave me the name of his link I looked there and found more. Thanks! Looks to me it dates between 40 and 45. Close enough for me, anyway.
Question: when the HCA consolidation came about did all the hat companies buy all their felt bodies from the same maker? And if they did, I imagine they were made to order in differing specifications for each company?

Hello Everyone,

The Nutria Quality refurb was the choice for today. Also a picture of a cute baby to distract everyone. This is my boy Henry Wyatt Williams - he sure has been keeping me busy and makes coming home after braving the outside world extra special.

Not really in the Winchester beaver stuff that I am familiar with. The weight, light weight, of felt is not available.

VS had a blue mist that was an in between navy and powder blues. I do recall no felt bodies are still available.

Gannon navy.

Easier to distinguish the details in comparison pics -Gannon navy-top, Moss Green -right and Gray-left.

Below is Blue - left, granite - top, gray - right.

Deadlyhandsome, Brent and others may be able to bring more knowledge
of other felt offerings particularly in rabbit.
