Have a pair of Frank’s boots On order. 10-12 estimated wait. Went with front range boots with one heel lift lower and dogger heel. Should look similar to nicks robert. They are on 55 last. Had planned on black but went with brown again. Curious to see how they fit as well as construction compared to whites and wesco. Never had a pair of nicks. Will post pics and mini review when they arrive

460 dollars I think is an excellent value for what you get.

Very nice indeed, I do like Trickers' derby brogues. THey are especially practical for wet and cold with the commando soles.

Nice. I guess you had the original leather/dainite soles changed right?
I would also strongly recommend shoe trees!

Trickers and Grenson also both make brogues with commando soles from new as well. It's a very practical option for a country shoe, and it looks just great on a chunkier model.

brogues with commando soles

A word to the wise, take great care if ever using this language in Timpsons in the UK without stating 'cleated'. Asked for commando soles on a pair of brogues, and guess what, when I went to collect they had replaced them with Commando brand Dainite style. I was fizzing, especially after a delay where they seemingly lost them. To be fair, it was good work and I got a deep discount for the F up.

Good tip! To be fair to Timpsons, whatever branch I use the service has always been great; good to hear they gave tmyou a solid discount over the mistake.

I picked these Road Champs a while back. When I got them in they were in tough shape, the soles/heels were done and the foot bed was peeling and packed out. That being said the leather uppers were amazing. So i took them down to the local cobbler who suggested that we strip the soles and put in a new footbed. I have had work done with him many times and always found it to be quality. Got them back last week and here is his work. The vibram sole was his idea and I supported it, as these will mostly be used as a summer boot. They really do change the look of the boot in a moto-logger sort of way, also they are MUCH less "clackity" to walk in and seem a little more nimble than the leather raised heel. Anyway, I have been meaning to share these with the group but am just now getting around to taking photos of them.

Another "Lucchese" day in Perth WA. These are Lucchese Classic Ostrich Ropers ( low heel) perfect for riding.
I have these in Light brown as worn today , and in Cordovan or "Black Cherry" as Lucchese term it.
I know once again it's Brown boots with a Black jacket but the "fashion police" are too busy hassling folks for being in "groups" of more than 2 !
Lucchese have been my "go to" US bootmaker for over 30 years now. This pair are from 2008.
EVERY pair of Lucchese boots I have ever purchased I still have !
Heeled and rubber oversoled more than once in that time. (Photo used in other threads sorry !)
I like to think I look after my stuff. ( The Mrs calls it OCD haha...)
