I felt very fortunate to have acquired this jacket. I always wanted a jacket that had a leather blood chit on the back. In fact, all of the patches are hand-sewn leather patches. Steve mccolgan flight jackets are not common. Haven't heard anything about him lately. He seems to have disappeared. Regardless, I've never seen an example like this one before.

I added the St Michael lucky Bell.
It is a reproduction. The Bell actually works, so to keep it from ringing and driving me nuts, I just added a dot of glue to the inside of the Bell. Problem solved!

I've seen his jackets before, but this one seems special. I've have not seen patches on his jackets before. I wonder if this was a one-off, or has anybody else seen one of his jackets that came with patches?

I would say that this jacket is mostly historically accurate, but not exact. Most A-2s would have been made with horsehide rather than cow hide. This one is cowhide. They did make them in cowhide, but that would not have been common. It appears to be well constructed, and it's comfortable to wear. The leather I don't believe is veg tanned, but it's tanning was done well regardless.I'm pleased with it. Gets quite a bit of looks!

If anybody here has a Steve Mccolgan flight jacket that had patches that were original to the jacket, I would like to hear from you and or see what yours looks like. I've just not seen any others, they are usually without adornment.
I know Steve made jackets for movies, could this possibly be a film wardrobe prop?
I would like any comments or feedback!
