I really like the battered look. ..but of course I have a battered tan Teamster. I think it adds immediate character and ruggedness to a new jacket that would otherwise take years ( or decades ) to accomplish. The top two styles that Ken is displaying are very nice, indeed..!!

My only issue with the battered look is that it reminds me of all those pre-distressed jackets Banana Republic and Wilsons sold in the 1980's when the Indy Jones craze was huge and people wanted pre-worn looking A2s and other 'adventurer' style jackets.

I have a strange feeling that Ken, because we wear the exact same size and because I've been such a long-time supporter of his work, will suddenly have an urge to forward one of these beautiful jackets to me for a nominal sum (yes, this is grovelling, but wth).

The bottom jacket is a sample double-faced suede that Aero is trying out-Looks rather nice.

That D-pocket is cool, and would look fantastic without the belt and epaulets- bootleggerstyle. The collar is right-on!

The battered hides I think are really great - I've had both the battered tan and the battered seal (the seal wins for me) - wear shows up even more quickly and the mid-weights are ideal. I don't think that under fairly normal usage mid-weight would prove less durable than FQHH. Given time again, I reckon I'd get my Aeros in mid-weight hides.

My thoughts exactly. Looks too busy for me in its current form, especially in tone-tone, but without the belt and epaulets would def do the job.

I like battered mid-weights as well. My Premier Work Coat is of battered tan and shows wear nicely only after half year of use. The hide is versatile and really easy to wear.

Yes, they are good hides. I find that the FQHH is a bit too much- it's great stuff but unwieldy (even the HWMN after ten years is unwieldy. It's totally broken in, looks great and I'd not sell it, but I prefer the mid-weight utility).

I have come to realise that the weight of the leather doesn't affect the useability of jackets as much I thought. Might be the pattern doesn't fit you as well or has very restrictive range of motion?

The jacket itself has completely broken in - it's probably the most beautiful thing I own and will soon get a replacement zipper so I can continue wearing it for another ten years. It's just much heftier than my other jackets and I'm generally happier with the weight of 'mid' leathers. Aero's goat is probably ideal in this respect.

Does it distribute most of its weight on your neck or on your shoulders?

That for example is a key thing for me in jacket comfort, I can wear a heavier jacket that rests squarely on my shoulders for much longer than a lighter one that is putting pressure on my neck.

Speaking of goat and comfortable patterns, I would have to point out Langlitz Leathers

I'd love either of those top 2 jackets. Beautifully done and when this is all over hopefully they make it into the range to choose from. The battered tan was an excellent choice for both.
