I feel like Branded jackets are under the radar in general. They are really well made and heavy but people don't really know about them. A little Marketing 101 here but IMO, their branding (no pun intended) is ineffective and not nearly worthy of the jackets themselves. I understood it was first Orchard Leathers before it was Branded. To me, the name lacks any punch and it leads off being a tad confusing to the consumer.

Yes I understand that Cattle get Branded. Also, beer gets branded, make up gets branded, athletes, actors, social media influencers have their "brands" --- products and people alike are "branded" under that definition of the word. So it sets up a "Who's on First" sorta conversational game of Pong, "Cool jacket! What brand is that??" "Oh thanks!! Its a Branded!!" "Yeah....that's what I meant...what brand is it??" "Dude, I just said it's a Branded!" "Well I assume its branded bro, what brand?" and down the Abbott and Costelloesque rabbit hole it goes....

Obvious exaggeration here but you only have a limited opportunity to name your product and then you start to BUILD you product following and reputation--i.e. Build the Brand. I just think the jackets are good products and I think with a different name to start and a little more focused modern marketing, they'd have a more well known reputation and brand. I hope they are still in business.

(Side Note/Question: Did anyone ever determine for certain whether Peter and Branded are still in business?? There was some confusion in another thread as I recall as to whether they had closed up shop. Any Info out there??)

Never seen a Hercules jacket like this. Never seen this horsehide label on a Sears jacket. Definitely a 50s Hercules label. I have Admiral Byrd jackets with a similar belt. This looks to be substantial hide. A new one to me.

Signed. I handled a few Branded jackets, they were simply outstanding and the one in the link doesn't look any less so. I'd bid on it if the seller would ship international.

Why have they listed the jacket as Avirex is beyond me, too. These outclass Avirex by a few levels.

What a beautiful jacket and a great deal. This is the grail jacket I was looking for when I discovered Aero and then this whole little world, and wound up getting a long half-belt. Though I don't need it and probably wouldn't get much of a chance to wear it, I may just pick it up anyhow. I think it was also made in Newark, NJ, not far from where I grew up.
