I just recieved my new custom Fivestar Waldo Pepper jacket.

Ive been really wanting BK Waldo Pepper but I cant afford one at the moment, so here is my substitute jacket. Five Star Waldo Pepper in seal goat hide. 1mm think. Im impressed with the quality, especially for it $200 and on my doorstep 9 days after I ordered it.

That jacket looks great, I've heard nothing but good things about Five Star, I'll have to try them out sometime.

Their suede trucker looks cool. I don't expect miracles for $130, but does anybody know if the hide is solid?

I'm in talks about a trucker. But made of goatskin instead of suede. I think suede is more on the thin side.

Congratulations Xopher!
I’ve seen a number of posts from you about the Waldo Pepper jacket and I know it’s something that you’ve had your eye on for a good long while so it must be nice to have it in hand. Looks like a perfect fit as well!

These jackets look great. The workmanship and cut/fit is really super. There are things that fall short compared to the high-end folks however, for $200 these are incredible and looking at pics of well-worn 5 Stars, once there is lots of wear, they are comparable to the high priced alternatives. Love the Avitrix style above and the Pepper.....aviation inspired without having to worry too much about authenticity (where the high-enders really shine!)

My jacket is the 1mm goat and seems to be exactly the same weight and feel as my original G&F M422a. The 1.2mm goat they offer has more grain which is very nice but even so the 1mm still has plenty and shows more and more by the day.

The leather quality certainly isn't top tier but its quite good, has some kind of top coating that feels like a late vietnam era G1. It feels nice a rugged but soft, it is a really good knock around jacket. I dont think it will patina without heavy heavy use, but I saw on the VJF that someone did an acetone test on the seal goat hide and it has nice golded brown undertones waiting underneath for years down the line.

I am very curious about the other leathers they offer, especially the 1mm Buffalo hide, which had I known about before I ordered I would have gotten that.
