Yeah, I was puzzled both the choice of cloth, too. I think your USMC cloth would be much better.

great missed opportunity here is to make a mask with a beard pocket

something triangle like classic bandit bandana, but with another layer to function as pocket, and sealing back to the bottom of the jaw/ neckline

Btw in local online market i bought this one for my brother's birthday and for myself.... somehow doesnt look to bdsm dungeon and more motorcross due to the shape of the center part and color combo perhaps. Has slot for fabric filter inside.

Speaking of... Made a mask with some repro frogskin camo. Came out pretty okay.
