Sheesh I just misunderstood. I thought Hanna was a member of this community.

We tease here, but it’s all in good fun. I hope I didn’t come across as rude.

I’m a fan of the B! Ware cap company. You can get a custom made cap for the same price as a mass produced one. I’ve found some vintage tweed that I sent him too, so that’s an option if you have or find an old sport coat or something with a pattern you like. The caps are similar to the photo you provided.

Hi! Does anyone know what brand uses this logo? I am sure I have seen it before, I just can't place it... it says Derniere Creation, which means Latest Creation..

THAT is a (beautiful) US Eagle very likely indicating a foreign manufacture for US import. I have seen it often of foreign dry goods made for the US market, especially on porcelain and china and especially English Ironstone goods.
US makers rarely used such devises on any goods made for the outside markets or even for dry goods meant for domestic consumption (out side the obvious patriotic goods it is often seen in food products for some reason)......

Eagles have a symbolic tradition in French culture. This French gold pin has a similar presentation as the mark in your hat:

The origin of the eagle and shield that adorns the old US Senate chamber is fuzzy, but it is described as being in the French tradition.

Steve nailed it, I think, Alan. He noticed that the eagle is holding the Stars and Stripes! It is an American Eagle.

Look, @alanfgag .
This is a message from the seller:

Hi Max
Thank you so much for your purchase.
I've checked inside the sweat band but there is nothing at all. I have just noticed myself that the logo is not the same as the Mossant logo on the box, which I thought it was. It is the American eagle!! But the writing is in French. I had thought it was possibly changed for the export market to America? That is the only thing I can think of. I know the 'provenance' of the hat, if not the 'pedigree'. It belonged to the grandfather of the chap from whom I bought it locally, in rural France, and we are approx 3 hours away from the Mossant factory, so quite local. All the hats I have for sale came from his family members. I wonder if they were in the profession at all.
So, in all, I cannot account for its logo. You have bought it since you noticed the unexpected logo, so I am assuming that you want still want it? I want you to be happy with your purchase, so do let me know if you want me to cancel the sale.

For storage, does anyone stack hats with foam rings around them for protection? If so, do they cause any damage to the felt? How many do you stack per pile? Where can I get some? Thanks!

I have passed two of my hats to a friend of nearly 45 years. He wears them a lot, and these hats suit him much better than they did me.

Here's the thing: both hats still have "my" bash. I find it odd to see my particular handiwork on my friend's head. Not that my hat-bashing is notable or amazing in any way, but I can recognize it as my own. Part of me takes it as a compliment that he has not altered the shape, and another part of me is infinitely amused.

Is this a common experience, or am I drifting off into the stratosphere again?

I would take it as his appreciation of your handiwork or homage to his friend.... or it could be in never occurred to him he could change it :);)

for me.. do know I have some hats I am reluctant to change. Usually it is I fear not being able to return it just so. Whether it was a shape I just happened to hit on by luck... or a simple clean factory shape I feel suits that particular hat.
