Day 20 of 31 Hat Parade: A little late to the party today, but somehow, a 3 hour nap was deemed more important. Covid lock down dreams. Today, another one of my custom hats from Northwest Hats - the "Bone Lord's Hat". Sounds ominous, but the name comes from the color of the beaver felt, bone. This color is very close to white, quite a scary hat to wear (stains...). The Lord's Hat is basically a homburg without a binging ribbon on the brim. They became popular as a 'dressed down' version of this style for a more casual day wear. Archived images again, working in the garden today, not the environment for this hat for sure.

Stunningly beautiful hat Mike. And as much as I admire Eric and the adventures his fine hats take... I feel your fear and I am glad you did not wear this one for gardening duties.

Breathtaking hat. Must be one of your finest, Steve.This week I will feature Echter Borsalino Hats which were made for the German Market. The hats will be from the late 1920s up to the 1950s.
Echter Borsalino "Bismuto" (Bismuth) and "Sanboca", Point 6 1/2, date stamped 17.5.29 (May 17, 1929). The felt is very soft / light weight with a unique box bow design for this style hat and also has a looped wind cord. It has an fantastic over welt curled brim and the non-reed sweatband is very finely stitched to the hat. The Berlin store / hat company (Max Eckard) that sold it did not survive WWII.

The box the hat came in is from a Berlin hat store (Philipp Neubauer Berlin)that survived WWII but not the locations listed (I have / had a few hats from this store).

Bob Dong Wabash Cap with a Tate & Yoko Chambray Face Mask on the Masked Corona Crawl this afternoon. These 8 panel cloth caps work well when the trade winds are blowing, as they stay on the head better in a gust.
Swam out past the surfers but kept getting slammed by the odd big wave. Swimming out and back into shore it was like a washing machine.
Things are really starting to open up here and there were only kids out surfing as I suppose a lot of guys are going back to work. I’m going to keep social distancing and wait and see.
