For what I think you paid for it that is massive victory, Joe! I think this is the one I actually forgot to bid on. Fingers crossed that smudge on the crown comes out. Mid fifties to about 1960 for this one. Gorgeous.
Well. Thanks for forgetting.. I guess LOL we will see about the smudge. Though once creased it's not as prominent.
Well. I suspect the seller boxed it up properly... but then put the wrong label on it and shipped it to the wrong guy. Then THAT guy did the label on the hat box gimmick in passing it along to me. A shame... but all and all came out very well.

Your generosity is much appreciated, but I’ve spent my hat budget on several custom hats so this outstanding Optimo will get to stay a part of your excellent collection. It's funny...really changes in the light. I mostly see dark charcoal with maybe a hint of green in the ribbon.
The risks of buying hats online. The actual colour according to the seller, how it photographs in the lighting, how it looks on my monitor, how my eyes interpret it....and on and on.
Yep. Luckily he engaged with me and asked if I was a Lounger so we got to talk about the hat a lot and I sent him some more photos. When I originally bought it it was described as having a pretty dominant green element but I mostly don't see it, more charcoal to my eye. Gorgeous hat though. Wish it worked on me!
