For the most part everything here has been ok. Working as a firefighter provides many challenges. The virus coupled with protesters in front of our complex has just made the job a little more challenging. We are still delivering our services which is good for the community I serve.

The bay area has done a pretty good job with the pandemic, relatively low case rates and we are now starting to open back up now. My family flower shop was closed for a bit and now I'm running out deliveries a few days a week so that the bills can get paid but otherwise trying to lay low as much as possible. I actually take hydroxychloroquine (and another immunosuppressant) for an autoimmune disorder, so I am higher risk. Sewing masks has become a new hobby, they will probably be sticking around for a while in this neck of the woods.
The most violent nights of protest also seem to have subsided. We've had a few consecutive days of largely peaceful gatherings. To be sure downtown Oakland and SF did not come through unscathed, but the calamity was not any more severe than this region has seen, comparatively speaking.
I can relate with Terry, I'm very much an introvert, so I felt decently well equipped to stay indoors and avoid people. Took longer dog walks; played more video games; streamed a lot of things; read of course; and, most germane to the lounge, started collecting things to make a hat!

Doing well here in Japan. Things have been weird with no kids at school, then a quarter of them each day, now up to half with normal attendance due to start on the 16th.
My prefecture (Wakayama) has handled things well and the whole Kansai group of prefectures (Wakayama, Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Nara, Shiga) has been free of new cases for a while now. My home country of New Zealand is down to one active case and is expected to be the first significantly hit country to eliminate the virus.
Feeling for the people in the US, Brazil, the UK, Italy, Spain and all the other hard hit areas.

Dang, the moon is kicking up a king tide, which had the waves tossing me around head over heels, and I had to hold my breath just a little too long for comfort. Tried to swim out past the breakers, but didn't make it, just got pummeled by wave after wave. Gotta get some swim fins.

My other half is in the same position - I've taken to behaving as if I'm the same so as to be surer for her sake, barring I get to go outside to walk the dog (Mimi Dog is currently sleeping under my feet as I type this; Coronovirus seems to have brokered a new understanding with GretaCat, who - despite still furious at no longer being "only baby" - now cosensts to be in the same room, and is sat on the desk beside me watching. Watching and judging in that way only a cat can.) We've been self-isolating since 13th March, likely to carry on at present until end of June or into July.
It's just been announced that masks will bea legal requirement on public transport in the UK from 15th June. They're already being worn a lot on the street here in London; in Scotland I'm told it's practically noone goes out without one. The upside of this - asdie from any medical advantages - is that quitea few of the self-employed people I know who work in the costuming and theatre industry and who have been hit by this are now able to make a little extra income from producing cool masks. I do begin to suspect that at least i our big citiesmasks might become a new norm for some time to come. I never gave it much thought here in London, but I have realised that during the peak of lockdown the air was so much clearer with only 10% of the normal traffic that I decided I'll wear a mask for air pollution reasons more often going forward.
This rather leads me to the obvious question as to what masks go best with which hats! Perhaps something steampunky with a bowler, or a large, red bandana with a black fedora, Lamont Cranston style...

All is well in my little coastal Northern California town. So far no confirmed cases of covid, and only 30 in the county. We did, however, have a very nasty bug sweep through the area in mid December through mid January that everyone wrote off as the flu, although it didn't seem to care if anyone had a flu shot and it had all the symptoms of covid-19. A lot of folks here think we had it before anyone knew it was even in the U. S, It would be interesting to see what the results of a town-wide antibody test would show...

My happiest moment in the last several weeks was when the local thrift stores reopened (with restricted hours and limited capacity) because, like Terry, my life is boring. The only major thing I was missing was the opportunity to paw through other people's junk.
I am looking forward to a haircut.
I am glad to see my fellows here are doing okay despite the times.

I'll drag my butt across the yard before I wipe with a hand full of wood chips.
My little town is guys with weed whackers and kids popping wheelies on their bicycles when I go past on a motorcycle so no civil unrest expected here.
Unless we run out of toilet paper, of course.
Guitars, motorcycles and my zoo of bottomless pit reptiles are keeping me from totally losing my marbles.
Reading current events makes me over eat which brings us back to the toilet paper thing so it's a viscous circle.

I lost my job due to the plague in mid-April. I'm currently in the middle of interviews for a new position that seems better than the one I lost, so I won't complain. And I'm one of those guys whose lifestyle didn't change much. I've always kept a good stock of supplies (largely out of a dislike for shopping), so the brief shortages did not affect me. I've been a low-level germaphobe all my life, so the stepped-up hygiene thing is second-nature to me. I added a cloth mask and distancing to my shopping trips and band practice, but that is about it.
I feel as if I'm skating-through all of this fairly unscathed, which admittedly, leads to some guilt now and then. My biggest challenge seems to be keeping up with changing information.
