Nice Straw and pug, Brent. The tall trunk behind you reminds me of a bluesy Bluegrass tune recorded by the Blue Moon Rising Band called: “The Hanging Tree”. Great song, but I can’t figure out how to place a working YouTube link on here, so if you’re interested you’d have to go type up the band and title. Sorry.

Hückel Weilheim "Special" probably mid 1950s.
Hückel Weilheim Hat Holders made by Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern possibly early to later 1950s. The Hückel plates on the fronts are made of a tin like metal and possibly hand painted. The company moved to Murnau in 1949 and are still in business today.

I hear the airlines are offering some pretty good deals despite our state and local politician's request for people to stay home. If visitors do come here there is a 14 day quarantine. There is much discussion on how and when to open up to travelers. We can talk when it all shakes out a bit more.So...is that an invite with paid tickets for me and my hat to your place in the tropics?

That is cool! I have had this one for a few years and have not researched the provenance. It does not surprise me that a European store would still be there.

Yesterday afternoon I debuted this rescue hat, a Fantom Hat Works of unknown provenance. It needed a bath an a new sweatband (which you can tell is of high quality by the gold stripe). A bit of a lower crown, and a mid-ribbon design akin to the Stetson Wanderer. But it's unlined and should be a good summer lid. Very lightweight with a nice, smooth, hand.
I like how thwy used an asterisk to refer to the "Registered" mark. I don't know why.
You can barely make out the Fantom logo imprinted on the crown tip.

Dobbs Cross Country
A very neat new arrival. This one came off a tip from @TheOldFashioned.
The Dobbs Cross Country a very thin light weight unlined hat.
This one had a cool back story. It had belonged to a woman who in the 1930s rode in dressage competitions against the men and won! She was a very proud tiny woman who loved to speak of the memories of her great adventures until her passing. This was how she kept the hat shaped and along with a chin strap she had made to use it for riding
I opened up the crown and reshaped it a bit into more of a fedora shape. There of course is a bit of memory from the pork pie shape she had it.. but it did shape fairly well. I’m sure some steam would help.
The crown is 5 3/8
The Ultra thin raw brim is 2 3/4 front 2 5/8 sides.
The grosgrain mid ribbon is 1 inch
And now for the bad news... unfortunately while I was looking under the sweat for the manufacturing tag.... the back half of the sweat popped its stitching. While the sweat was very soft and malleable.. This potentially 80 year old sweat is Almost paper thin and tore at the stitches like a zipper. The back side of the sweat was powdery. So I guess this one will need a new sweat at some point.
