@AeroFan_07 The stockman is a goodyear welted boot with a lower packer heel i believe

these are basically a farmer rancher on the 55 last and single row toe stitching.

same 430 sole, brown oil smooth heavy leather, 8 inch, brass eyes/hooks, standard logger heel. Their standard whites stitchdown construction

it is called 375(8 inch)MV(mini vibram sole) w/ my specs

^^ Very nice! Yes, the Stockman is ~ $100 less and goodyear welted. Nice boots, but I prefer the Farmer-Rancer stichdown construction. Those are literally life-time boots you have on there!

Yes I agree with you on that. Very solid boots. Also getting very comfortable too. I do notice the higher arch than the MP boots I just got and I like it. Both are really good. Not sure how much I will be grabbing for my RW IR or 1907s with these. Wearing my alden 403s at work today

I have RW - Iron Rangers too. They are indeed awesome boots, but rather flat for me, now that I have gotten "used" to Whites/Nicks arch support. That said, I never wear dress "shoes" anymore, either the IR's or similar. But I do not get to a lot of "black tie" occassions out here with the cattle, hogs & horses in Iowa. :)

Thanks chaps, I really enjoyed reading this thread. I wish that I had read it sooner, as footwear is so much easier to photograph!!!
I will be posting pics of my footwear from now on.

I mainly wear trainers (sneakers for the non Brits!) but I do own a few pairs of boots too...

A nice little pair of softer-than average White's I picked up via ebay via FlatCap's observant eye...

Not sure the model, but these are a much softer than usual leather for the uppers, and leather lined inside too. Kind of like well-supported house slippers but heavier duty too.

I've never owned any Red Wings, my "workboot" collection consists of 3 pairs of WL and a pair of Block & Last (and I say "workboot" because in the rare occasions when I leave the office and visit the project location I'm required to wear real EN approved safety footwear and clothing). My WL are pretty much built like a tank. One of my pairs is made of Horween hide and though supple and comfortable is really sturdy.
I've never come across any Viberg's either, but at that price tag I'd rather buy dress boots.

I have ap air of Red Wing Iron Rangers in Amber/tan, and a pair of William Lennon B5s (the British ww1 boot, except mine are shiny black leather and have a triple thickness sole). I paid £150 new for the RedWings about five or six years ago, end of stock I think they were. The Lennons I paid £50 to somebody on eBay who had never worn them. So both new - at the same time, the normal price forf a pair of RW IRs was GBP250, and Lennons GBP150 (presumably plus something for the thicker soles).

For my money, both are fantastic boots. The wax finish on the IRs makes them instantly more 'casual' at a glance, as they can't be polished, though they come up nice with a dedicated cleaner spray every so often. Both are a quality product, and I could justify them being the same price. Both have worn equally well. The RWs have a sense of being some how more 'mass-produced' while the Lennons have that artisanal quality to them. While they remain markedly cheaper the Lennons are definitely a better deal, but allowing for their differences as boots I'd see them as sort of equal.

I'd love to see what Lennon would do with the traditional engineer boot style.

I think I broke my trainer habit at university. Wore little else outside school for years, then I got some DMs followed by squaddie boots at university. I did used to wear canvas Chuck Taylor types in Summer, but tbh I think the last time I bought a pair of trainers must have been..... 2005? These days the closest I get is a pair of saddle shoes. I'm just more comfortale in a leather shoe most of the time. Still like the aesthetic of the traditional Cons, though.

You ever want to sell the IH, let me know. I've been trying to find one for quite some time. :)

Will do! Wore it today, despite the humidity. Cannot praise the construction enough. Perfect mobility despite the tight fit.

Just picked up a pair of RW Blacksmith 3345 in Black Prairie. REALLY excited to see how the tea core ages in. The plain toe should be the perfect canvas to display that. Still waiting on a pair of custom white's mp in waxed flesh from baker shoe, along with my vibergs they will complete my blackened brown boot collection
