Does this Aero CR fit?

aren't CR's 'racing shirts'? I'm not a fan of this style of jacket for casual wear.....everybody thinks they will look like Tom Cruise when they put it on.....never gonna happen. Having said that, there is the old fashion maxim 'if it aint hurt'n it aint work'n'.......that is, sometimes one must suffer discomfort to achieve the desired look. I think it looks fine on you.

I don't think Tom Cruise is pulling off a CR look particularly well on any photos that I've seen. The WOTW CR that helped start it all really fits him two sizes too large. My CR goals are all random dudes either from the old photos or from here, Styleforum, SuFu, etc., people that rock their CR's better than anyone in Hollywood. Except for maybe Theroux. :D

Agree - Cruise looks short and stumpy in his cafe racer jackets and unfortunately it seems to me the best look for this style is when worn by a tall and thin frame, like Theroux. A middle aged guy with a slight veranda over the tool shed looks pretty dreadful in a cafe racer.

@Seb Lucas , yep, agreed. And even if warn a size larger, it can look great on a person. I don't mind at all how John's CR fits him here, even though it's a bit baggier than what most people'd actually prefer. But it's a great look.

Aero's CR will often fit great. It's a well tailored jacket.

Theroux is 1.75m... Tom cruise is just wearing a jacket two sizes too big with the sleeves almost covering all his hand which make his arms look even shorter.

Yep, CRs are a bit of a challenge for the larger guys. They can always go for the cross-zip-badass-biker-guy look.

From your opening comments I'd say the jacket doesn't fit: if you look at the photos of John Chapman and MrProper above, the jackets look completely natural and comfortable. My experience has been with jackets that are too small is that I'll initially wear them a few times explaining to myself that they'll " break in," but they never do. So it winds up hanging in the closet until I fess up with myself and move it on. Save up some bucks and go through Thurston, and you'll find yourself with a jacket you'll wear night and day.

Having this exact conversation with myself right now with regard to my Aero HB.

The pictures are kind of poor, and the way you're wearing the jacket unzipped makes it look awkward. I would say that it might fit, but it doesn't look great. However, the pictures make it tough to really tell.

Words of wisdom.

You're not actually saving money by ordering 2nd jackets and trying to find one fitting well. Turn to Thurston instead and you'll have a nicely fitting jacket with no compromises.
