I also quite like those, having both Wrangler 124MJ and Maverick Blanket lined. Now thinking of getting a 24MJZ.I really like the styling on these 70s Maverick/ Blue Bell jackets!
Unfortunately they seem to have a 22" back length...

That’s what’s kept me from buying a vintage Storm Rider as well. I found several that would’ve fit me perfectly but the longest was about 24.5 inches.I really like the styling on these 70s Maverick/ Blue Bell jackets!

Yep. I bought two storm riders with a 23” back. Gave one away to a member here and returned the other. Shame b/c I love the pattern but if you’re over 5’8” you can pretty much forget it.
My wife bought me a Sherpa lined version of this jacket. It was so cool but sat a full 2” above my belly button. Donated.I really like the styling on these 70s Maverick/ Blue Bell jackets!

really? I'm 5'9" (175-176cm) the back of one of my type3 is as short as 21.5", my type2 is 24" and that fits me long, is it probably since most denim jacket has relatively flat shoulder, so for your build it is pulled up on back of the shoulder and looks shorter on the hem
since my shoulder is flat it fits me just normal, i think for a straight hem line 23" is my ideal for my height

I did a first soak and wear until dry today.

I purchased this on ebay about a month ago, but as it was a birthday present I was not allowed to wear it.
I must confess to encouraging the creases to form (I realise this maybe frowned upon) however I dont feel guilty about it...
Looking forward to the first wear.

Really cool! How did you do that??
I did a 60 minute soak 40°c (at the start).
Then patted dry with a towel.
I then wore it in the garden, as it was a lovely sunny day.
I opened the cuffs and hitched the sleeve up to my elbows...
During the drying process I gently pressed the creases as the fell naturally using thumb and forefinger.
I had to collect my daughter before it was dry, so I place on a hanger outside.
After about an hour I continued to sharpen the creases whilst it was hanging (much to the annoyance of my partner!).

Turned out great! Now I miss my jacket... Would've tried that.

There is a chap making denim in Thailand Choochai Boonsrangjamrus
(He advertises on face book)
Who has woven 32oz and 37.6oz denim, with this he is making type 2 and 3 jackets. They look great, I almost ordered one, but with postage they came in around $500.00 .
I got mine which was brand new for half that, but I must confess to wondering what if!

That does sound interesting... Found him on FB. That stuff does look really neat! And if I'm reading this right, he's making that denim??? Would be really cool to have something so unique and nice. Definitely worth the $500, considering how much other makers charge for their denims which in comparison might even be considered mass produced.
That said, I kept the Dickies trucker which doesn't actually look bad at all and I can try the soaking method on it. Fits great as it is but for $10, I don't really care what happens to it.
