Vintage Halfbelt Info

I just recently picked up this jacket and was wondering if anyone had any information on the label. To me the jacket seems to have been made by Monarch given the pattern, buckles and French seams. I’ve never heard of “Howard Sport Apparel”. I know there was a men’s store in New York in the 30’s and 40’s called Howard’s and it could be from there. The jacket was re-lined at some point and is in great shape for it’s age.

Can’t offer any insight into the maker. But I for damn sure like it. Sweet!

Sure nice, I know nothing about the maker. I like the details at the sleeve cuffs, etc and the leather appears in amazing shape. Looks like it fits you well too! Great score there...

Very nice find. Monarch? have to ask Dave Sheeley. He is good at spotting Monarch jackets. I do believe I have see the Howard label and may have one of their later jackets here. I could not find a Howard label in my archive.

Do you believe the lining is original?

Compare to this jacket. The Californian label was an add on. Dave determined the jacket was made my Monarch. He changed the label when he had it specifications.
