Wow, cool!

I occasionally pick discontinued bottlings at a local booze shop, when still available at normal retail price, some indie single cask bottlings as well.

And whenever I find a nice shop traveling around in the world during holidays, I look out for a nice souvenir.
Does not necessarily have to be a malt, but often ends up that way...:)

But a bottle for 500,- bucks has not yet landed in my basket.

The star of the cabinet is a gift from a buddy. He re-gifted it to me after he insisted on leaving it here after a whisky and cigars afternoon. It is an 18 yr old Japanese Yamazaki. I was given it prior to Japanese prices going nuts. It would cost me upwards of $1200 to replace it today.

Hahaha, yes, some of that Far East stuff is completely nuts...such as some of the Scotch too or uncle Pappy...:D

I‘d rather buy a very excellent 50yo Darroze for a quarter or even less of that...:)

Longmorn Speyside is a longtime favorite but is expensive & can be hard to come by. Bottlings by Gordon & MacPhail can always be counted on. And a few by Signatory. And I'll add First Edition's to my independent bottling list. Very white wine like, leaving curtains on the glass.
