Good to see that one again, Jonathan. Never gets old. Speaking of which: you seem to be getting younger! What's the secret?

Thanks, Stefan! I'd like to say keeping up with my 1- and 4-yr old keeps me young at heart, but by the end of the day it's usually just exhaustion.

Another nice straw from you, and a color coordinated tie to boot. Then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

I took this old stetson to work to shade my head from the hot sun since I had to work outdoors today, I was glad I had it because we had a terrible storm come through. It was my rain hat the rest of the day.

Now I sit here in my basement, no power. No AC. Worst of all NO FAN to sleep. Most of the town is without power. There are trees and lines down all over town. So much damage. I drove up to my parents after dinner and the entire town looks like a war zone. You almost lose your bearings, the streets are nearly unrecognizable. I'm 35 and have never seen anything like this. My boss at work said she hasn't seen a storm this bad since 1974. My parents said the exact same thing.
I got my Akubra Bushman in the mail today but I haven't been able to shape it without power to run the tea kettle.

The Fedora Lounge version of hell: and open crown that you can’t shape :)
I’m glad neither you or your folks were hurt in the storm; it sounds like a scary one.

A new American Hat Co. 20x straw I have been dicking with for a week. Decided it wasn't up to the quality of my Resistols so I wanted to do some thing different with it. (as in see just how much shape I could put into it) Not a lot different from my typical hat style and a heat gun makes these plastic coated straw something akin to putty. But I like the end result. Got it done just as the sun was setting tonight. Should be a good hat to work the the wheel lines (sprinklers) with :)

Just my annual vacation. None of our plans worked out due to the pandemic, but we’re healthy so there’s not much to complain about. I did manage to sell over 40 hats! I also bought a few, but definitely going in the right direction.
Wow, 40 hats ...that is impressive. For most of us that number is an entire collection plus.....Did you endure the pain of Ebay or use another venue?

Hey guys... been off From here for a bit. We unexpectedly lost our mother on Wednesday due to COVID-19. My head is definitely spinning quite a bit. I’ll probably be away a bit longer... but I do imagine I will be back sooner than later as this is kind of been a bit of therapy for me these past months... and will likely I will be in need of that outlet soon. That and there are so many great beautiful hats to get to. In the mean time here are a few photos of me and my mom in better times.

Mostly eBay, but not all. I still have another 30 or so hats that I need to list, but boxing and shipping is a pain so I need to spread them out.
I feel your pain. The thought of boxing and mailing 40 hats to me would be so daunting it would stop me dead. I have two bikes for sale and listed them locally for pick up only. The thought of Ebay, boxing and shipping is a deal breaker at this point.

If there is a hat or two that you would keep if it fit .......IF the border ever reopens we can ship back and forth so much cheaper that I would be willing to disassemble and reblock up for you. I had such fun reblocking that Tom Mix I would like to do more of it. Keep it in mind. With the tom mix I even used the original leather sweat...just inserted a piece of sweat to increase. Doesn't look great but at least I have the original provenance of the leather sweat.
