What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Congrats on the new hat. The 3X is a dynamite looking fedora.

A short run, shower and then off to pick vegetables in the garden. Wearing a straw Champ. The star of this hat show is the pug. What a pug!

Picking the tomatoes I stained my white shirt. After fixing a salad brunch I changed clothes and donning a Sunbody I headed out for a walkabout. I was reflecting that I changed clothes even though nobody was going to see me.

Juvenile Osprey and the local Piliated Woodpecker captured my attention this morning as they were both more vocal than normal. My "forest bathing" has me feeling mentally and physically refreshed.

Cheers folks.

Be safe, be strong and see you on the street soon, Eric -

Thanks, Eric. Great scenery.

A work of art; let's hope the Ecuadorians keep producing them.

Looking good, Charlie. And be vigilant; you never know what might rear its head out of the waters.

There's room in that pic for a photobombing horse, but I guess there were no takers this time:)

That's what you get for flying too high, John: you end up in the clouds. Great hat.

That's one we don't see you wear too often, David. It deserves some headtime for sure!
Thanks Stefan!
Finding clouds around one's head is a hazard of living in Northern California no matter what hat you wear!
Oh wait... I guess it's the same in your neck of the woods too... :)

Haha. Yeah. Charlie Sheen (Charlie Harper - Two and a Half Men). Great shirt.
Shows what I know. Sheen’s name was Charlie Harper on the show?
Didn’t watch the show much, but I liked his shirts. I’ve recently bought 3 brand used ones from eBay.
They match very well with fedoras.

I had to look it up to make sure I had it right. LOL! I’ve only seen the show here and there over the years... probably mostly in syndication. But Charlie and his look on that show definitely stand out in my memory and in pop culture for sure. I agree those style shirts work great with fedoras... or any hat really. Are the ones you got vintage.. or newer ones?

Hats and flattops are the only vintage items I care to to buy. Good thing, too. Just a small collection of those two things can put a guy in the poor house!

Wow! Nicest, cleanest Westward I’ve ever seen!
Your Lee jacket makes me want to ask, what’s the rose patch mean?
Funny you ask because you're the second person today. The other was an elderly gentleman, probably in his 80s, at the grocery store this morning. If there is a meaning to it I'm ignorant of it. There's a white one on the other sleeve:

I recently bought this secondhand on the TFL Classifieds (seller's photo above). The jacket is a Japanese repro of a 1946 pattern by Lee. The patches were added after by the previous owner. I originally had mixed feelings about the roses, but they're growing on me. The back, however, sealed the deal for me:

If vintage shirts aren't your thing you can always join us in the Outerwear section. Hats (Champ Texan) go well with vintage leather (Golden Bear):

Beautifully executed crease J.
B

Thanks, B! It had been sitting open crown for a few weeks now as I couldn't decide what to do with it. I tried a couple different times but wasn't happy with the result, so I ended up popping it back out to try again later. I knew I didn't want another diamond like my Champ Texan. I guess it all came together this morning with this dry crease.

Thanks for the invite, but I’m inept in the area of vintage apparel pairing. I’ve noticed that you sure do it up right!
i.e., that cool outfit with the killer Champ Texan!
It’s all I can do to match fedora with shirt!
