Do you sweat much under your Panama Hat?

I am finding this year I am really sweating under my Panama Bob cuenca, moreso than the parabuntal straw hat from Buckaroo Hatters. In fact, I prefer many days to go hatless then to wear the cuena. I can walk five, ten minutes in my cuenca and my scalp is soaking wet. It used to be I just noticed that it was the sweatband. Given that, heck, I would wear my felt hats and don't think I would sweat that much more. Anyone else experience that?

I don't think my Tilley hat would work for suits and dress clothes (khakis and a nice polo).

I've only handled a parabuntal, but it seemed extraordinarily light compared to my straws. As far as the sweating goes, it's hot as hell out there. I just wipe the sweat off with a handkerchief and think about Iceland.

I don't sweat any more in my Panama toquilla hat than I would in a mesh to baseball cap. I take off the hat and wipe away the sweat. Again, just like I would when I'm wearing a ball cap.

What sort of hat band do you have? Is it cotton or leather?

If you never got that sweaty before the question I would ask is “what changed?” Is your hair shorter? Is it hotter/more humid this summer? Have you gained weight? Not working out as much as you used to? Are you stressed? All these would contribute to sweating more.
