Hello again
I understand this might have been discussed before but could anyone assist me in defining the characteristics of an OFFICIAL NAVY ISSUE EXCELLED jacket ? Please let me know especially of the jackets labels.
Best Regards

Why don't you post a picture of the label in question? We could be of more help that way.
Hello
Firstly, thank you for the quick response ! It is not about a certain jacket. I just want to understand what the current issue Excelled G-1s look like ! Could you please confirm if the new Navy issue jackets have the DLA label or the DSCP one ? The older Navy issue Excelled ones did have the DSCP i believe ! Am i right ?

No, the newer G-1s have the DSCP in the label. That stands for Defense Supply Center Philadelphia. Don't confuse the label with the contract prefix nomenclature.

The older ones had the prefix of DA, DLA, DSA and SPO is found in the newer models.

Here are pics of two of my G-1s. The first is a 1962 Irwin B. Foster. Note the contract info is given in the tag with the DSA prefix.

Next is an Excelled Sheepskin and Leather Coat Company. Note the SPO designation in the nomenclature.

Contact Excelled directly - if still in business, the may be able to help
Dear Sir
Just did what you advised and contacted Excelled themselves ! They said there are two tags ! The ''DSCP'' tag which is the tag on the jacket that is used for military orders only and the ''QUARTERDECK'' tag which used on the jackets of current Armed Forces members ! Is that correct ?
