Hi everybody. Working on a new custom order from Thurston Brothers. Anybody have any experience owning a jacket in their newer Bainbridge leather that they can share? Really want to know how the leather changes over time in terms of color since the pull-up is supposed to be pretty dramatic. Thanks!

The I believe its called Maple Bainbridge looks incredible. I would love to see how it looks after a few years of wear. Dont see them around here that much other than Bainbridge posted by Carrie from Thurston. Shes fairly active here and responds to emails very quickly as well. My best bet would be to contact her. See if she can give you the low down and has any experience on how it ages.

The Dark Maple Bainbridge looks great in the photos of the many jackets you can see on the Thurston Bros website & here on the lounge according to Carrie

"The Bainbridge is a medium weight leather and comes out nearly the same as Badalassi and Vicenza. The feel of the leather (body/stiffness) is in between the Badalassi and the Vicenza. Bainbridge feels just a little stiffer than Vicenza, but it's very flexible and will shape to you quickly."

I'm also looking at jumping into the Thurs Bros queue for a custom jacket, a Hooch Hauler, which I think would look pretty damn good using the Dark Maple Bainbridge, I own a few jackets in Vicenza & have tried/handled on a jacket made out of Badalassi.

I just got a Maple Bainbridge Sheene a couple weeks ago. Been too hot to really wear it in, but really looking forward to when it cools off.

I had originally ordered the Sheene in Brown FQHH, but saw the Bainbridge while the factory was shut down and managed to change my order. Zero regrets. The leather is lighter weight than my tumbled FQHH cafe, and instantly comfortable. It has more character, I feel, than the solidness of the Brown FQHH.

The only demerit I would give it is how shiny it is. You can see it in the pictures, and it looks the same in person. I’ve worn it around the house for a couple hours at a time and it does seem to be going more matte the more I wear it. It’s also a little squeaky, though that seems to be reducing too.

Here are a couple not good pictures. I’ll try to take better ones later. They make the jacket look lighter than it is (it’s more a chocolate brown), and the camera shows more light highlights than I see with my eye on the back picture. The back picture is closer to the actual color.

this is with ~4 hours of wear around the house.

Looks great! I’ve decided to go with Bainbridge for my BR in abyss blue.

How would you compare the feel and drape of the Bainbridge compared to other leathers?

Here are some outside shots after several more hours of wear and a short walk through a light sprinkle.

My other jackets are a tumbled FQHH and a battered FQHH. This jacket is softer, lighter, and feels great from the first wear. The others are noticeably heavier and stiffer, especially before they warm up. This one feels good right away, though it also softens as it warms up.

It does have a bit of a sheen to it. That is the only thing I find to be a slight negative. Seems to be lessening over time, though.
