Fabulous! A true work of art.View attachment 260792 Here’s a Dalton I’ve had for a while and finally, yesterday, able to dye midnight blue. I’ve yet to sew the ribbon on and the original sweatband and liner back in. (I dyed a Mallory the day before)
That’s the original binding with 4 decorative stitching rows. It was 7 1/8 but stretched to 1/4 and able to keep the brim width, being careful also to keep it 2 9/16 all the way ‘round.
Not easy, but doable. Dye job a success, I’d say! It was a medium/dark gray.
I used one packet of navy blue and 1/4 packet of black. In natural light it’s a bit lighter blue, but not much. I love it, and glad it came out this well. It’s my only Dalton!

I also have to add Bickmore hat stiffener and then reshape.
Now, what type of bow treatment to use...?

Was going to sell this when it was gray, I have too many, but now since it’s my only blue hat... make room for another favorite.
