Love that one Eric. Your hat, scenery and photography are always fantastic. Snazzy hat.

Thanks for the compliment sir. I enjoy showcasing the everyday life of my hats.

Very nice, Eric! When did you get this one from Art? I brought back a bunch of hat bodies for Art from Ecuador a few years ago and this one looks like it could be one of those.

It is indeed a VS. It is only a year + old.

That’s my kind of Panama, Eric! Enjoy the weather while you can.

Thanks Brent. In my neck of the woods this is unusual. Our day time temps should be in the 60's f and evenings in the 40's f. I feel like the warm weather is teasing us into a false sense of warmth. Instead I need to "toughen-up." Glad that the unprecedented fires appear to be abating in your area of the US. Wildfires, climate fires, management fires - all the words hardly describe the crazy tragic nature of the 2020 fires. Glad you appear safe.

Thanks for all the likes. Be safe, be strong and see you on the street soon, Eric -

The warm winters allow the bark beetle population to explode and kill hundreds of millions of trees over the last decade. The rains don’t start now until later in the year and our fire season doesn’t end now until November. The long dry season kills the vegetation and lowers its moisture content. It all comes together and a small ignition source causes conflagrations of enormous size. The fire near me was over 50 miles wide and grew over 100,000 acres in one day! Climate change of just a degree or two has upset the delicate balance and we are just beginning to see some of the terrible consequences. I’m planning on leaving California, but this is a planet wide problem.

I come back after a long and strange summer that lasted until late September. Impossible to wear felt hats, today thanks to a cool day here is the first autumn felt.
Magdiner 8.jpg

A low-class hat, those that wear out in years of intense use and hard to find, so nothing elegant, no XXX, no beaver or high-sounding names.
Magdiner 6.jpg

It is a hat made in France probably in the sixties, therefore with a short brim and a medium crown.
Magdiner 2.jpg

It is called Magdinier and has only one peculiarity: it has a heathered felt that is difficult to find today, nothing but the felt is marked "Chinè Satinè "Impermeable (satin heather, waterproof)

Have a nice day :)

The cooler weather brings the felt back out ... So today I'm enjoying one of the finest bespoke pieces I've ever handled

Hope you are all well

Well, hell, there's a surprise. Looks from the debossment it's getting some head time. Whatever happened to the one with the pencil curl? Did you keep that one?

I always think that sounds like the name of a summer camp in upstate Minnesota. Nice hat.

hey uncle Jim !!!

yes I still have that one ... definitely a favorite

Hey back atcha, brother. How's that kid's fastball?

I'm about this close (holds fingers reeeeealll close together) to ordering another Gannon. I haven't gotten a new one in a few years. I'm thinking a powder blue Strat clone, but Eric's recent Playboy clone has me thinking...

OK, maybe two?
